When Does School Start for You?

Sept 6th, not looking forward to it, will squeeze every last drop of summer at home with the kids first. I will be at the lake grilling burgers, drinking beer the day before thinking all day, I cannot BELIEVE it's a school night!

Sept 2nd. Which IMO is ridiculous because it's a Friday followed by a 3 day weekend.

Up here in NJ we start after Labor day and go until almost the end of June. I grew up in NY and it was that way since I was a kid in the 1970s. We have a whole family trip to fit in before school starts.

We don't start until after Labor Day.

My oldest son will be starting at a charter school on Aug. 22nd. They still don't end for the year until the 3rd week of June. I have 2 other children in Catholic school. They follow the public school schedule. They start Sept. 1st, and end a few days before the son in the charter school.

Not soon enough! Aug 31st seems MONTHS away right now... grrr...

The charter school my daughter goes to starts August 17 and the public schools starts August 22.

School started 2 weeks ago - this is the third week. The last day of School was the last Friday in May for us as well!

We( the staff) went back Monday and our students will come on the 22nd. We got out June 3rd.

24th for the older kids and 30th for pre K ... we are in the pre K group!

My kiddos wont go to school for a while, But some schools here went back today and the rest tomorrow. Even though my kids arent school aged yet, I dread when schools in... it adds at least 10min to my commute no matter which route I take.

Our school started Wednesday, in the city proper it started a week and a half ago, WAY WAY early this year.

Here at my house we will start back after Labor day. I homeschool and we take breaks throughout the year and all my kids do school project all through the summer. I don't like the backslide that happens during the summer so the activities keep them up on the basics.

Our public school starts Aug 30th, my daughter's private prek starts after Labor Day. We homeschool my older son, we'll start end of next week.

Majority of schools here in DFW start 8/22 also!

Here school started on Aug 4. Last day of school was sometime during the week before Memorial Day. I am not sure of the exact date for students. My children aren't in school yet but my husband is a teacher. His last day was May 31 but kids were already done.

Same here in north central tx! Monday the 22nd its go time!! My baby is a freshman this yr, mama is not handling it very well!

My last child graduated from college last Friday! No more school for us :) My granddaughter in Tennessee started first grade yesterday, August 15.

Day after Labor Day. School ended on June 18th or something (can't remember, it seems like AGES ago). I feel like there's still so much summer fun we need to have before school starts. I'm pretty sure the kids feel the same way...

We start this Wednesday Aug 17th and our last day will be May 18th (with no snow days)...

My 5th Gradrer had a half day today, and they have a full day tomorrow for K - 5th Grades. Last day of school is usually around May 22nd or so!

August 24. Orientation August 18th.

We got out a week late because of snow days on June 24th! Some of our private schools start the last week of august, most start after labor day. This year because of budgeting we start the Wednesday after labor day.

My son started pre-k August 3rd (and the rest of the school started then too)! I know the charters around here are starting today.

Last day of school was the Thurs before Memorial Day, end of May and it started last Wed, Aug 10th. This is the first summer I stayed home with the kids and I can't believe how fast it went!

Washington DC Public Schools start on August 22nd.

My kids start next Tuesday, while my nephews in Chicago don't start until after Labor Day. My kids got out of school June 7 due to 2 snow days added on from our wonderful February snowfall. My kids are actually a bit excited about going back and the routine.
