For us in Houston, its starting next week! The last day of school last year was the last week in May.

Up here in NJ we start after Labor day and go until almost the end of June. I grew up in NY and it was that way since I was a kid in the 1970s. We have a whole family trip to fit in before school starts.
We don't start until after Labor Day.

My last child graduated from college last Friday! No more school for us :) My granddaughter in Tennessee started first grade yesterday, August 15.
Sept 6th, not looking forward to it, will squeeze every last drop of summer at home with the kids first. I will be at the lake grilling burgers, drinking beer the day before thinking all day, I cannot BELIEVE it's a school night!

My oldest son will be starting at a charter school on Aug. 22nd. They still don't end for the year until the 3rd week of June. I have 2 other children in Catholic school. They follow the public school schedule. They start Sept. 1st, and end a few days before the son in the charter school.

We start this Wednesday Aug 17th and our last day will be May 18th (with no snow days)...
Day after Labor Day. School ended on June 18th or something (can't remember, it seems like AGES ago). I feel like there's still so much summer fun we need to have before school starts. I'm pretty sure the kids feel the same way...
My 5th Gradrer had a half day today, and they have a full day tomorrow for K - 5th Grades. Last day of school is usually around May 22nd or so!
Here school started on Aug 4. Last day of school was sometime during the week before Memorial Day. I am not sure of the exact date for students. My children aren't in school yet but my husband is a teacher. His last day was May 31 but kids were already done.
Majority of schools here in DFW start 8/22 also!
Out june 3rd and went back August 3rd.
We get fall break of two weeks in october, and 3 weeks in December and 2 more weeks in march for spring break. It's weird but I have kinda like it once I got used to it.
Here at my house we will start back after Labor day. I homeschool and we take breaks throughout the year and all my kids do school project all through the summer. I don't like the backslide that happens during the summer so the activities keep them up on the basics.
I'm in NY...my daughter goes to a private school and they're first day is September 7...so she still has a little summer vacation left...the last day of school was June 24th!!
Charter schools in the area start earlier though...my sister is a teacher and her kids came back on August 13th.
My step-son goes to a charter school also...His first day back is August 31st.
My kiddos wont go to school for a while, But some schools here went back today and the rest tomorrow. Even though my kids arent school aged yet, I dread when schools in... it adds at least 10min to my commute no matter which route I take.

We got out a week late because of snow days on June 24th! Some of our private schools start the last week of august, most start after labor day. This year because of budgeting we start the Wednesday after labor day.
School started 2 weeks ago - this is the third week. The last day of School was the last Friday in May for us as well!
My son started pre-k August 3rd (and the rest of the school started then too)! I know the charters around here are starting today.
My kids start sept 7th. One of the school districts right next to us starts next monday aug 29th this year - a week and a half earlier then last year.
The charter school my daughter goes to starts August 17 and the public schools starts August 22.
Not soon enough! Aug 31st seems MONTHS away right now... grrr...
Our school started Wednesday, in the city proper it started a week and a half ago, WAY WAY early this year.
Last day of school was the Thurs before Memorial Day, end of May and it started last Wed, Aug 10th. This is the first summer I stayed home with the kids and I can't believe how fast it went!
Washington DC Public Schools start on August 22nd.

We( the staff) went back Monday and our students will come on the 22nd. We got out June 3rd.
Here in NY, my kids go back on Sept 6th, their last day was June 25th. Staff (like me) report back Sept 1st. I worked summer school so it doesn't feel like I had much summer vacation.
Our public school starts Aug 30th, my daughter's private prek starts after Labor Day. We homeschool my older son, we'll start end of next week.
Same here in north central tx! Monday the 22nd its go time!! My baby is a freshman this yr, mama is not handling it very well!

August 24. Orientation August 18th.
My kids start next Tuesday, while my nephews in Chicago don't start until after Labor Day. My kids got out of school June 7 due to 2 snow days added on from our wonderful February snowfall. My kids are actually a bit excited about going back and the routine.
