What to Get for the 25 HS Girls Who Teach My Child's Preschool?

Hi all, my son (and sometimes my daughter) attend the COD preschool at the Technology Center of DuPage, which is an adjunct teaching facility for many high schools in the area. There are about 25 girls who are bussed in in the afternoon to take the Early Childhood Development class structured for preschool. In addition to the two directors, who I know what sort of gift to get for them as xmas present, does anyone have any ideas what I can bring for these 25 girls? It's so very much not in our budget which is as tight as it's ever been. I was thinking a small xmas ornament for each of them, but even from the dollar store (which i'm wary of for their made-in-china toxicity of lead or melamine :), it would be more money than we have to spend. Should I just make them cupcakes or bring in a box of Fannie Mae? What's acceptable? I do want them to feel appreciated for all their work and for being so great w/ my kids. Thanks for any ideas you can share.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I love the fudge idea but doubt we'll have time to pay attn to the detail of it, it being such a short week and we have two schools to attend for parties and xmas shows and one oral surgery for my daughter... sheesh, it's going to be a long week before we get that much beloved 2-week break. You are all gems, thanks so much!!!!! Cupcakes it is!

Kinda sounds like my daughter's cheerleading squad. You can make cupcakes (they love those!) and it's really inexpensive. You can decorate with something on top i.e., a Hershey's kiss (christmas colors) and then it is festive.

I think you should bring in a box of chocolates that they can share throughout the day!

I was a teacher in that program (a long time ago). I remember being given an ornament (a simple, cute one) that was a perfect gift. But, I think a cupcake would make a GREAT gift. Everybody loves a little sweet treat! A homemade treat is a very thoughtful gift that serves it's purpose well.

Wow, is that expected??? I know we plan to get our one daycare provider a gift card, but 25 - jeez. I'd just make them rice crispie treats with a card and call it a day.

Dear Nancy

I realize their may be 25 girls involved in CCD but are all of them assisting in your child's class?

If so I believe home baked goodies would be great or just a treat bag for maybe them to have when they go to the show while on X-mas break. I have teens and they take in a holiday movie during break with their friends.

If it turns out that just two girls assist in your child's class than maybe a movie ticket would be great.

If you're short on budget, forget the Fannie Mae. That's a waste of taste on a preschooler (I got a kick out of it). I'm sure they would love cupcakes. All kids love cupcakes. Makes sure you get white cakemix for those who can't eat chocolate (allergies). Kids love a little Xmas party. Maybe some mom will donate the cupcakes and even a couple of dozen cookies. I use to bake for every occasion my kids had in school. I loved every minute of it and would do it again if I could.

I like youre homemade idea. How about homemade fudge wrapped in little bags (or even aluminum foil) with a bow??

I say go with the cup cakes. I'm making my sons teachers home made toffee to save a buck. The other thing you could do for pretty sheap would be to make home made bath salts. Girls (and women for that matter LOL) always like things like that. You could go to www.make-stuff.com to get recipes. Hope this helps.
