I'm looking for some ideas/advice. My son will be finished with daycare in a couple of weeks as he will be going into Kindergarten. He has been with the same daycare provider since he was a year old. What would be the proper gift to give? I have two other children that are still in daycare as well so money is pretty tight these days. Just wanted to get some ideas about what others did when their children were finished with daycare. Thanks!
A Visa gift card, so she can spend it anywhere. Maybe like $25. I wouldn't get it for one specific place since you probably don't know where she likes to shop...
You could do a photo magnet for her fridge in a little magnet frame that says to the best daycare provider in the world. It depends on her personality, my daycare provider would eat that up :)
gift cards are always nice. Our class gave the teacher a gift card tree where each of us bought gift cards and then put them on a tree for the teachers. My parents gave me a beach bag with a really nice beach towel, koozie/huggie, and a coffee mug with chocolate in it.
Each parent can buy a $10 gift card to somewhere and then when they are all on the tree, they add up. ;o) Just email out to the other moms and set it up.
I am always in need of craft supplies! If money is an issue, then this is perfect! Send her some constuction paper, crayons, markers, etc. and a nice card or a picture in a frame is always nice.
How about a simple flower arrangement with a nice hand-written card saying how much you value the time your son spent in her care. Simple shouldnt be overlooked as sometimes it is the most heartfelt!

I recieved a bamboo plant once and thought it was great. Its been like 6 or 7years and I still have it!
i would buy a nice frame and have your kiddo paint or draw a picture. THen she can re-use the frame if she wants to or keep the drawing. I love the little stick figures and sunshines kids that age draw.
oh and maybe have him remembers some of his fav things he did with her and write those at the bottom of the picture. like remember when we played superheros or remeber when you helped me learn to drink from a big boy cup.
I concur with the photo magnet!!! Nonchalantly take pictures of her with your son, if you don't have a recent one. Upload it to the site and order. I get a photo magnet every year of my favorite birthday picture of my babies :) I use Wal*Mart... quick, easy and fast!
One of my daughters daycare teachers left the daycare and we were so sad to see her leave. My BG is 17 months old. I gave her a picture of my daughter and a written thank you note. Also, a little basket with goodies in it (chocolate and homemade cookies!)- she was very apprecative! :)
