My 3 1/2 year old goes to bed at about 8:30 p, wakes up between 7:30 and 8 (or 8:30 - 9 on the rare day) and does not nap. She hasn't napped since about 2 1/4 yrs old. It was rough early on, but once she got used to not having a nap, now we have issues if she DOES take a nap (unless there is something for her to look forward to right when she wakes up). Good luck!

I stay home so he goes to bed a little later, so we don't have to get up so early. If we have something going on early in the morning, we have him to go to bed earlier. (I always get up earlier then him, anyway.) On a typical night he falls asleep around 9:00 and wakes up around 9:00. He does not take naps, but he has an hour of quiet time daily. That consists of him resting on his bed. He typically plays with cars or something on his bed. As long as he's quiet, relaxed, and on his bed, then I'm happy.

My son turned 3 a few weeks ago. He stopped napping a few months ago. He does have quiet time every day but almost never sleeps. He will nap maybe once every few weeks. He will stay in his room for about an hour though and play.

He goes to bed between 7:30-8. We try and keep it at about 7:30, but sometimes that's hard to make it happen. He is so tired at the end of the day and really is fine going to bed then! If we do something active like swimming in the afternoon he'll even go to bed sooner. (we go to the indoor pool a lot)

He sleeps until about 7-7:15 in the morning.

My son is 3 years 2 months old. He naps maybe 1-2x a week but for the most part has not napped in over a year. Bedtime is 730-8pm and he's up by 630-7am (naturally - I only wake him up at 630 1x a week for daycare. The others he wakes on his own).

I have an almost 3 year old and a 4 year old. Bedtime is 7:30 and they wake up between 6-7AM. Neither nap anymore, but my 4 year old napped until 3.25 years old. He napped from 1:30-3:30 everyday. The soon to be 3 year old gave up naps about 2 months ago.

My daughter turned 3 at the end of June. She may or may not nap (usually does at daycare, does not at home on the weekends), but if she does it's for 30 - 45 minutes. She goes to her room for bedtime at 8:30 but goes to sleep probably around 9:30 or 10pm. She wakes up between 6:30am and 7am.

The kids have always went to bed at 9pm. They wake up around 7 so that's 10 hours of sleep. When they napped they went out for a couple of hours in the morning then again in the afternoon. Once they were older they took a couple hours off in the afternoon and laid down on their cots. They slept nearly always about 2 hours.

I wouldn't compare him to everyone else's kids, unless he is really extreme-either sleeping waaaay to much or too little. That being said our 3 1/2 year old goes to bed around 7 and wakes up at 6 or so. She also naps for about 1 1/2 hours a day and is a very active little girl with me(for example we went on an hour long bike ride yesterday and then went to my son's running club). When our son was 3 he slept anywhere from 9-12 hours at night-depending on the season and usually took a 2 hour nap.

My son at 3 was a napper. Everyday for 2 hours. No battles.
He napped in the afternoon.
And still went to bed just fine, by 8:00pm.
My son napped even at 5 years old, and they did so in Kindergarten too. But then once he was in school, even if tired, I had no time for him to nap... because there was homework and after school activities.

Oh and my son, no matter if he napped and no matter what time he went to bed, he woke in the morning about 6:30am. It is just his clock.

At 3, my son napped for two hours a day in the afternoon and went to bed at approximately 8:30. We woke him up for preschool between 7:30 and 8:00. On weekends, he would generally wake up on his own between 8 and 8:30. Occasionally there would be a three hour nap, a 9 am wake up or (rarely) an extra (car induced) late afternoon nap that went until morning.

My 3 1/2 year old sleeps for about 11 hours - sometimes 10 1/2, but usually 11. He stopped taking naps when he was just over 3 years old. He was pretty cranky those first couple of weeks, but he would just fight naps so hard and would only need 7 or 8 hours of sleep when he napped. Mamma wasn't getting enough sleep! Once we got him used to the no nap routine, the crankiness stopped and he's been great.
