I'm trying to change up our routine a bit & just curious what has worked for others. My baby is almost 6 mos.

What can I do next?

I breastfed all 4 of mine on a demand schedule. So they slept and ate whenever they wanted to. I think they were about 1 before I even tried to get them on any kind of schedule.

With both my kids as babies/infants.... bedtime and nap times were according to their cues and needs. I just KNEW their cues and sleep/nap needs, and when they were tired and when to put them to nap and bed.
As babies, they also napped like 3 times a day for the 1st year and went to bed by 7:00pm. And they slept and woke at night for feedings at varying intervals and that's it. It was all typical baby timing and cues and was all just a natural progression and timing. And at growth spurts and what not, it can change a bit but that is just normal and also just per my kids cues and how I knew them.

My kids always went to bed by about 6:30pm at that age. With the time change, my 18 month and 5 year old have both been going to bed at 6:30pm and waking around 6:15-6:45am. My 18 month old still wakes during the night to nurse, though.

What time did they go to bed? Um, when they fell asleep. Sadly, my kids did not require a lot of sleep at that age. I tried for a bedtime around 8:00, I think, but I took whatever sleep I could get. They usually woke two or three times during the night and were up for the day by 7:00 (or later, if I was lucky). Things got so much more consistent after their first birthday.

We put DS in his crib when we went to bed (generally 11:30 or so). Before that he slept where he fell asleep. He pretty much was on a 3 hour repeating schedule - wake screaming from starvation, eat, change diaper, play/be awake a bit, sleep. Repeat until bedtime, then generally 5-8 hours of sleep (after 17 weeks, before then the 3 hour schedule was round the clock). We got DS up in the morning at 8-9 am to go to daycare, if he was not already awake.

Around 6 months, I put my babies to bed by 6:30, and then they are up at 7. I do the same till they get closer to their bday.

I think probably around 8 at that age?? I don't really remember but it was about 5 months when I started putting them in their cribs to nap on a 2 a day schedule, so with two naps, they were probably sleeping for the night about 8pm-7amish.

My son was breastfed on demand too, but regulated himself into a good schedule by 6 months. At that age, he would nurse for the last time around 9-9:30 and sleep until about 7 am. He'd nurse first thing, then again around 10, followed by a nap until noonish. Nurse after waking up, play and do whatever until 3ish, then eat and nap again. He'd nurse again around 6, and be up until bedtime. Getting him in that schedule was really easy, it worked great for him and for us as we could pretty easily plan our days around it.
