I was at work today and when I went to lunch and used the bathroom, I noticed that I had gotten my period early and that I bled through my underwear and it had stained through my pants. I have no idea who saw it, but it is just very embarassing. Does anyone have any embarassing period stories to share?

What can I do next?

In the early days of adhesive pads, they were not all that reliable. One evening I went out dancing, and when I went to the ladies' room, I discovered that my pad had disappeared. Probably fell out while I boogied on that crowded, dark dance floor.

I was horrified, but not exactly embarrassed, because nobody probably had any idea whose it was. But I imagine somebody was horrified to see what was stuck on their shoe…

I was about 2 weeks into my new job when I was called in to my boss' office for a brief meeting. We had the meeting, I got up and there was a small pool of blood on her FABRIC chair. omg. I was so incredibly embarrassed. Luckily, she was really nice and understanding about it and I was able to scrub it out with cold water and soap. But can you imagine?? I was so thankful my boss was a female =P

This is gross in addition to embarrassing, so please don't puke on your key board. My parents were staying with us and they take the kids in the morning to let us get some sleep. Yay! So you can imagine besides sleeping-in what we like to do before leaving bed. Instead of the 3 minutes we try to squeeze lovin' in, we had all the time we needed so hubby treated me to some extra special loving. Neither of of figured out I had started in the night until after the fact. I can't even bring myself to tell you exactly what he was treating me to, but use your imagination. He did a really good job of not overreacting, but still, not sure either one of us will ever recover.

Been there, done that....tooooo many times. Since I was 12 and first started I missed school the first day of my period each month. A friend later told me, "I always knew when you got your period because you weren't at school." Thanks.

The worst. After having spent over 15 days with a period daily (after another time of going almost 3 months of a daily period), I went to a new doctor because we were new to the area. He gave me progesterone saying it would get better before it got worse. Great. Insert new job with an out-of-town conference where the other teachers and I went as a group. I bled right through my clothes on the way to the conference (riding in the passenger seat) that I had to ask my boss to borrow her car back to the hotel to change. I then had to arrive very late to the conference and watch how I walked, sat, stood up...ugh.

Another time I bled through my clothes while I was tutoring a kid in her house...also fabric chairs. You learn fast to always have a jacket with you....even in the summer.

Can I tell you how happy I am that I had my hysterectomy 3 months ago!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

That one time, during Band Camp...LOL, sorry, the memory brought that awkward girl from the "American Pie" movie...anywhoooo, that one time (I was a teenager) i left a used pad in the bathroom and forgot to take it and throw it away...right after me my 14yo male cousin got in!!! Needless to say, he couldn't shut up about it....I wanted to dig a hole in the floor and bury myself!!!!

This past summer I started a new bcp, which caused me to unexpectedly pass a gigantic clot in the middle of a pilates class. I was wearing light grey yoga pants and had my legs up in the air at the time!

No period of mine is fun, but call it age combined with the hectic holidays, and, the fact that often I have trouble remembering stuff just because I have so much to remember - but this was HORRID!

It was a rainy day, during the holidays and I actually FORGOT to put a pad on and I left the house with my daughter and we arrived at the dentist. There was another woman in the waiting room looking at me, but nothing so odd.

I got home and there was blood all over the center part of my pants, pretty bad too!

Oh my gosh...but she didn't say anything, nor did anyone else so I'm hoping no one noticed.

I can't, to this day, believe I forgot protection.

Well, my car engine is really quiet and I have got out of my car, 2x in the last few months, and left my car running !!! One time it was running, in park, for a couple hours. The other day, it was left in park, and running, in the Costco parking lot for about 45 minutes!

I feel like I need post-it notes everywhere as reminders: Turn off car engine and remember the protection!! LOL.

To think that before I had a child, I never forgot anything.

7th grade, beige pants, had a pad on but flow was too strong. It leaked around the pad in the back so when I bent over, everyone saw it. UGH!

11th grade. Speech class.
They all hated me because we had debated some stuff and I had stood up for my beliefs. Whole class Vs. me.
I always asked to go to the restroom during this class. I had been forced to take it by my guidance counselor and I hated it. I tried to waste time every day.
Had a long cream colored button down shirt on...and had started my period.
Got up and went to the RR and they all saw it.
The nasty, mean boys asked me if I saw the "red spot" until I moved away midway during my senior year.
Amazingly, the girls never teased me over this.
Nasty boys. Hope karma got 'em.

Alright, I wasn't going to answer this one. But all of your stories made me feel less alone. Jane, you in particular inspired me, because I think yours was the BEST!

So don't judge me - but I was sleeping with my boyfriend in college (I did end up marrying him though) and it took him YEARS to finally tell me that sometimes he would see my underwear on the floor with a period stain on them, and he totally thought it was a different kind of stain...... I still can't believe he continued to date me, much less sleep with me, thinking I didn't know how to wipe my own butt.

I was in 7th grade at the indoor fun fair with about 8 of my friends. It seemed the whole school was there that day. I knew I had started and took precautions with me. But, being new at all of this, I didnt account for the octopus ride slinging me all over place. I bled through everything! And even noticed it on the seat of the ride. I used the crude restroom to get cleaned up and luckily had a button down shirt i could tie around my waist. We were all dropped off together and another girils grandad was going to take us all home. I didnt feel like I could call early and I had no other way home!

Not anything like that, but I remember that happening to a lot of girls at school, so sad.

It was hard for me to cheer, b/c I wore those big ole bulky pads and I would have to be lifted for stunts and do all sorts of jumps and tumbling. It was always embarrassing.

Oh my, I was just thinking about this last night, no sure why, lol.
My monthly friend once came to visit me on my then boyfriends bed while I was sleeping!
So embarrassing.
EDIT: I remember, my daughter told me about having your period on bad and looking like Japan flag, so that is why I remembered, it happened to me!
I hope I didn't offend somebody with the Japan flag thing.
