What Is Your "Ideal" Wake up Time?

If you didn't have to worry about work, school, kids, the house, etc.... what time would you wake up every day?

I prefer 7:30. I take forever and a day in the morning to get moving, but also don't like wasting my day away and find 7:30 is great. I am ready to go by 8:30 ish and still fill like I have the entire morning to get things done and accomplished.

So, again, was is your "I would sooooo love to wake up at ____ everyday" (even though we know we most often can not, lol).

What can I do next?

I'm a total night owl. If it were up to me, I'd stay up till about 2:00-3:00 am and sleep until noon. I don't like mornings. I never have. Chances are I never will.

If I never had anything to worry about???

I probably wouldn't leave the bed except to eat or use the restroom. But then again, I'm a 'different' case. I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia.

When I'm taking my medication, I'm just fine with 8-10am.

Any time that doesn't start with a "5"!

I would love to get up at 7 for many of the same reasons you have stated. I'm a morning person and am typically most productive before 2:00 in the afternoon. In fact, I am one of those people who gets up on "snow days" b/c I can accomplish a lot before the rest of the house wakes up!

I would say 7:00. While it is a luxury to sleep longer than that, I feel like I'm wasting my day if I lounge around in bed.

Um, NOON!

No, honestly, nowadays, 9 am would be perfect. I get up every day around 6 am and I am so over it! I long for 9 or 10 hours of straight sleep!

I cannot remember the last time I got to sleep in the am without something waking me up....baby, alarm, etc. I miss it sooo much!

Noon or later. Seriously ... I'm a natural night owl and always have been. I'm happiest when my day starts at noon and ends at about 4am. Now that my kids are all teenagers and in school full time. I generally take them to school then go to bed (next year they'll be taking the bus again so I'll get to bed much earlier) ... get up in time to pick them up from school. Except on days I have Physical therapy ... then I'm just whipped all day.

8. That way I have plenty of the day still and by the time I get ready to go, most of the important stores are open if I need to do errands. Also if I just want to garden, then it's not to hot.
@Mommy of two boys! I hear ya! I remember some weekends where I slept till 1 or 2!!!!
I used to be a theatre major so the weekends were the only time I could actually could sleep. It was beautiful.

I like to wake up naturally sans alarm clock or phone ringing or door knocking or cat meowing or hubby prodding. I like the quietness of morning and prefer waking up right at dawn to start my day.... as long as I'm asleep by 10.

Generally somewhere between 8 and 9, and then spend another hour or 2 easing into my day, just drinking coffee and watching the morning news shows...but DD keeps getting up earlier and earlier as we get closer to summer (right now she's getting up at 6:30) and either wants Nick Jr. on, or she's bugging me to play outside right away.

9:00 would be perfect for me. I get that once in a blue moon. It's been 6:00 on the weekdays, 8:30 at the latest on the weekends, for the last year or so. I know we're lucky to get 8:30 but 9:00 would be great!

7:21 minimum, 9am maximum. I get to sleep in until 9 about 4x per year, and that's usually if I'm deathly ill or have a migraine, but only if it's on a weekend, they kids sleep in, I've already made coffee, and the wind is blowing east ;) My point is, that rarely happens.

I like trying to be the first one up, gives me time to wake up (I am NOT NOT NOT a morning person)... I make the coffee, get the kids breakfast ready, and tackle the first few work emails before I'm out of my sleep coma.

Anything earlier than 7:21, I am the dragon lady for the rest of the day. I will literally cry and pitch a temper tantrum if I have to get up earlier than that. I'm in BIG trouble once my kids start high school... school here starts WAY EARLY!!

I was just thinking about this question wishing I were still in bed. I'm a night person so 11am would be my ideal wake up time. Before kids on the weekend I woke up at 11am and went to bed around 2 or 3 am. That was the life. (sigh).

7am

Everyone in my house gets up closer to 6am which makes me batty - i just CANNOT handle 6am - so i have them watch tv quietly until i drag myself up at 6:45...

Someday when my kids are teenagers they'll sleep all the time (so I've heard) and I can't wait. ;-)

At least 11am. I think that even if I could, I couldn't. My body is conditioned to waking up early. So much for wishful thinking. Lol

8:00am. My body naturally wakes up at 8am EVERY SINGLE DAY no matter HOW late I get to bed. When my 7 year old was sick and throwing up all night last month, I didn't get to sleep until after 6am....

...8am, I woke up. Gah.

Luckily, almost ALL of my kids wake up at 9am, so I have a whole hour to myself in the morning to prepare for the upcoming day. My 4 year old likes to get up at 8:30am right now, so she and I have some cuddle time in the morning. Love that! :)

M-F I'm up at 5:15. A couple of times a year I sleep until noon, but my body dictates when that happens. 7:30-8:30 works best for me. That seems to be the time I wake up naturally on the weekends if we don't have anywhere we need to be. It gives me a good while to drink some coffee & read before everyone else is up & all noisy.
