What Do You Do for Care When Pre-school Is Closed?

I'm currently looking in to full-time daycare/preschool for my toddlers. I've noticed that two schools in my research are closed from Christmas to New Years, Spring Break, Thanksgiving week...and one of the schools closes even more for "training" weeks.

These schools may not work for us for this very reason, however, I wanted to see what other moms do with your kids during this time? I'm sure some of the days you stay home with them, but that's a lot of vacation time from work! Do you take them to a drop-in daycare (like Adventure Kids)? Are you able to find other moms in your class who stay home and give the SAHM some extra cash for watching your kid?

What can I do next?

I would check out Primrose School of North Plano. My one year old attends this location and their school calendar shows them to only be closed on Major holidays and one staff development day. Primrose is also an accredited private preschool which will give your children a great start to their education! Good Luck with your search!

Our child goes to Kids R Kids and they are opened for the majority of time even on school holidays which is really wonderful. For Thanksgiving and Christmas the holiday schedule is: off on Thanksgiving day and that Friday. Christmas holiday is closed on Christmas Eve and on 25th; and for New Year's Eve they close at 3pm and are closed on New Year's. Usually those times aren't too much different than alot of companies and there isn't too much time needed to take off work. This helps BUNDLES! It's when you get grade school kids that the real conflicts arise. Usually there is an after school program at the school that exists and you can pay for that. Hope this helps!

My daughter also attends Kids R Kids in Frisco for after school care. On the days when school is out, it is considered to be an "in-service day" and they usually have field trips or special events scheduled to keep them busy. The charge is an extra $10.00 per day, per child. Hope that helps. Good luck!

we use a sitter or one of the grandmothers. another option is ASI they have care during that time depending on the age.

Some times the teachers that work at your child's daycare might would be available to come watch your child at your house. You would just pay them like any other babysitter. They don't always have to work on those days. Sometimes it's just another day off for them. And it would be someone you know and has experience. Good luck
