Weight Gain - Manchester,NH

Hi, my beautiful baby is two years old. I had an excellent pregnancy, and gained the normal 30lbs during my pregnancy. I have been struggling to get the remaining 15 pounds that I have left off, and recently have found myself gaining weight dispite my low carb high protein diet and exercising program. In a matter of a week I gained 7lbs..... I am not sure how this is possible since I run 6 miles 4 times a week and do yoga the other 3 days. I am extremely frustrated, and wondering if this could be a thyroid issue, as I am also exhausted. I have always had to work to stay thin, but my program has always worked for me. Thanks for listening to me vent, and if you have any suggestions please let me know, particularly regarding the thyroid issue.

What can I do next?

I have had the same problem but had gain ALOT of weight during my pregnancy due to toximia, I ate extremely healthy and mostly fruits and veggies but still gained close to 80 pounds! OUCH! I had my thyroid checked as the first 30 came off fast and now I am stuck. My thyroids were fine but I was vitamin d deficient which also could be part of the problem. I would see your doctor and have them run labs, especially with your work out program you would expect to at least maintain. Good luck and I just wanted you to know ..... I feel your frustration!

I agree with the poster that mentioned to get your thyroid checked. I have a thyroid problem and am on meds. I started to gain weight very quickly all of a sudden, and it turns out the dosage had gotten too low - once it was adjusted, I lost 5 lbs in a month without changing anything else.

It could definitely be thyroid. I've also heard a vitamin D deficiency can cause you to have trouble losing weight and feel tired all of the time. Ask your PCP to check you out and see what he/she thinks. It could be an easy fix, good luck!

Might be silly to ask... but could you be pregnant?

Hi K., I highly recommend trying a product called Cinch -- it is an inch-loss as well as a weight-loss product and is all natural. I have had great results with it, and you don't have to worry about any side effects because it is all natural. I will send you a private message with details as to where to get it, etc. Best Wishes. If you are not breastfeeding, I would suggest you get your thyroid checked to be sure. Better safe than sorry.
Take care.

I would definitely get your hormones and blood work checked. 7 lbs in one week is a lot.

Hi K.
could be your body has acclimated to your workout and now you need to mix it up a bit.. I did aerobics for a long time and in the first couple of years, I lost lots of weight.. but as I became more fit, my body acclimated and I needed to switch things up.... How about trying something apart from running, like aerobics or cycling?
