Visiting Richmond with a 2 Year Old, Looking for Kid Friendly Activities to Do

Hi Richmond Moms!
We might be relocating from Dallas to Richmond due to a job opening there. We will be visiting Richmond this weekend to see if it will be a good fit for us. I was wondering if you Mamas could recommend any Toddler friendly we can go to while we are there. We will be arriving Friday Morning and will be leaving on Sunday. Any recommendations like restaurants, shopping centers, playgrounds, anything would be great! Thanks!

What can I do next?

It really depends on the area that you will be visiting. There is the Children's Museum http://www.c-mor.org/ Lots to do there. In Chesterfield and in Henrico there is the Playroom http://www.the-playroom.com/ There is also Maymont Park http://www.maymont.org/ There are many restaurants to visit and lots of malls. There is Chesterfield Towne Center http://www.chesterfieldcenter.com/ Stony Point http://www.shopstonypoint.com/ Regency Square http://www.regencysquaremall.com/html/Index2.asp
Short Pump Town http://www.shortpumpmall.com/
There is also a Farmer's Market Festival going on Saturday http://www.richmondgov.com/econdev/farmersmarket/default.htm

Here is one more site that can give more info of Richmond and the surrounding areas. GOOD LUCK and have fun in Richmond.

We have Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, which has a Children's Garden and Water Play area. Also, there is the Children's Museum. They have a brand new outdoor area with water as well. There is a wonderful park that is shaded with lots of different equipment and even animals up at the farm house to see. The park is Crump Park and is off of Mountain Road. There is also Three Lakes Park with a playground and a Nature Center. Another favorite is Maymont. This is a huge park (no playground equipment), but lots of walking and nature. There is a nature center there, too. And a petting farm. As well as, different wild animals throughout the park ... foxes, bears, deer, etc. These wild animals are confined of course (not roaming free) and they are there because they have been injured or can no longer live in the wild. These are some of our favorites.

There are some places in Richmond called "Pump it Up." They are indoor ball pits to play in. I know there are two locations, but I am not sure where.
