Urinary Troubles

When my 2nd trimester started, I had intense kidney pain on my left and right side, so having had a kidney infection before and knowing what it felt like, I went straight to the emergency room. They told me that nothing seemed to be wrong and it was most likely ligament stretching pains I was feeling (I certainly know the difference). They prescribed me Tylenol #3 and I was on my way. The pain subsided without the help of the meds and I thought nothing of it. Now, I'm starting my third trimester and I'm experiencing the same problem. I went to my OB and they tested my urine. It came back positive for a white blood cell count (signaling an infection) but it came back negative for a UTI. I'm experiencing frequent urination, incontinence (but who doesn't at 7 months pregnant?!), & infrequent kidney pains. Has anyone had this problem before? Tomorrow I have another appointment with my OB, and it's definitely something I'm going to bring up.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

My OB gave me my urinalysis/culture results back. He said there was no infection, even though on the paper it said in the bacteria column "found=many". So I have no idea. But I'm okay now and not having troubles anymore.

Hi, V.;
Do you wear a maternity support?
The baby could be lying on your bladder preventing you from completely empying your bladder. Your kidney could have dropped. When you go to urinate, sit there after you think you are finished and wait for 3 minutes.
Take some cranberry pills from your healthy foods store.
Good luck. D.

I just wanted to wish you luck and good wishes. I hope they find out what is the root of the problem.

I think it sounds like you have it under control. Luckily, I never had that issue when pregnant. I just had to pee all the time because my son was sitting on my bladder. Good luck

Have they ruled out kidney stones? I had them with both of my pregnancies and was told it's common. With my first, it passed on it's own. With my second, I had to have surgery to have it removed (two months after my daughter was born).
I hope it gets better for you soon! Good luck!
