Tummy Skin Elasticity- Dare I Hope for Improvement?

When did you stop seeing improvement in your stretched out prego belly skin? I'm 9 mo postpartum and back to my normal weight, but just hoping my belly will look a little more taught than this. Not talking about the belly fat, thats another issue, just the skin. Dare I hope for more improvement, or should I start to accept that my love bugs may have ruined my tummy?

What can I do next?

I think some of it will never be the same as it once was. When you blow up a balloon and let all the air out is it the same as before? Good luck! :-)

I think that is just what happens =(
If you lose more weight than you gained, it might be less noticeable but I think that is just yet another thing you get when having kids!

Same thing here. I keep telling my husband that after we have our second child I swear I am going to get a tummy tuck. He says I look fine, but really it's what I feel like when I look at my body in the mirror. That's why it's still good that I have the room dark during those intimate times. I imagine that my body is taught and sexy. Then those darn light go back on afterwards and I am reminded again about it. Sigh. Wish our bodies were like rubberbands after pregnancy. Went back the way they were without the stretch marks.

I have the same problem. but at least you lost all your weight. good for you!.
I have no suggestions. I belive it is like limabean said, short of surgery you are pretty much stuck with the elasticity being gone.

When it's just the loose skin thing -well -that is unfortunately usually only going away with surgery :-( I feel your pain! Most women I know have it -especially those who have gotten back to their pre-pregnancy weight or thinner. Some folks are genetically blessed, but the skin doesn't get any tauter -even when you get in shape. Sorry!

I've heard lots of good suggestions but short of surgery, they all take a long time for results. A friend of mine swears by dry brushing, which you can do at home yourself. I've heard great things about the Mary Kay toning body lotion, but I haven't used it long enough to tell if it's going to work. I tried Bio Oil for a few months and it did NOT help at all and it was expensive. Please let me know if you find something that actually works!

Hello! I was a non believer till tried, but my friend sells these really great at home wraps that do tighten. Ladies are losing inches in 45min, and results stay. I would not share if i did not beleive. I don't sell them-so i get no gain! Hahaha. It is a company called It Works, and it does! Worth a try. Obviously you need to eat well and excercise to maintain. They cost 20-25 dollars. If you are interested i can send you the link.
