This remedy is of the same generation that recommended mothers smoke cigerettes and drink alcohol during pregnancy. PLEASE NEVER GIVE ALCOHOL TO CHILDREN! Even a little can cause liver damage or alcohol poisoning. If nothing from the drug store is working have her contact her pediatrician for other options.

Oh my gosh, please tell her not to do that to her poor baby! I can't believe people still think that it's okay!! Honestly if I saw a mom do that I would call CPS in a heartbeat.

No alcohol!!!!! Tylenol and Motrin, teething rings that have been refrigerated (don't freeze), and baby orajel are the best things. A cold washcloth to chew on also works.

Stick with Tylenol or Motrin for infants. Baby orajel is a fast reliefe while the meds kick in. Also ice cubes in mesh feeders help soothe pain.

I've tried it once but my kid hated the way it tasted and when I tried a second time he was like 'get that away from me!' We use homeopathic remedies now with great success. Chamomilla being the most common ingredient. I've seen them at CVS, Hyland's is the brand. But you can get them Health Food Stores and I've seen that VG's has some homeopathic stuff, too.

Please, please, please, DO NOT give a baby alcohol. Whisky is not a pediatric pain reliever. Tell your sister to give her child all fruit popsicles which will numb the mouth and relieve the pain, there are teething tablets which are all natural and help relive the pain, cold wash cloths can be rubbed on the child's gums or given to the child to chew, if necessary orajel can be use and tylenol or motrin given.

I see that a lot of people are suggesting Orajel. Orajel has alcohol in it. Now I'm not saying that Whisley is good at all but either is Orajel. Stick with cold things or Tylenol, Motrin.
