You didn't say what part of Dallas you're in, but the TownNorth YMCA (Midway & Northaven) has a great swimteam program. I would suspect most of the Y's do. My daughter did it for a year and enjoyed and several friends kids are on it as well. There are also several swim clubs in NW Dallas that are open to anyone - GlenCove, Club Royal and Park Forest - but their swim seasons are winding down now and will not start again until next summer.

The summer recreational swim season is winding down now. Many of the cities around Dallas have summer swim teams with swimmers ranging from 5 - Adult. Both my daughters participate in McKinney Sea Lions swim team. Try googling Dalas summer swim team - I found a couple of sites - see which meets your needs. Also, some of the summer swim teams have fall practice and conditioning programs that you can look into. Since it is amateur atheletics they are required to take a break for several months - usually Jan - April. Meets are Regional and occur in the summer starting around Memorial Day. Good luck and have fun! We've enjoyed our time on the swim team.

Summer recreational swim season is nearly over, but the the Texins Activity Center which is on the TI campus has year round swim team. You could check with them. Good luck!

Try SwimPlus in Plano. They do swim development and teach year-round.

Try to go to a city pool. Tom Muelenberg in W Plano is nice. Joe Carter in Plano. They have small fees. Any city pool. If you need further lessons Elmer great but a little expensive. In Dallas Fretz Park has a pool. For teams google your city and local swim teams. They are a lot in our area.Like Farmer's Branch local swim teams. Dallas local swim teams. Good luck! L.

My son has swam on the Coppell YMCA team since his 1st day of kindergarten. Many of the Y's have a year-round swim team. I'm not sure what would be closest for you. I know that there is also a Town North team. -- Many of the country clubs and rec centers also have summer swim teams (but not year-round). -- There is also the Mustangs swim team that has a location near Farmers Branch, but I would suggest starting with a Y team. The tryouts consist of performing each of the 4 swim strokes one length of the pool. It doesn't have to be pretty, but rather just show that they can perform the stroke. Swim meets are optional but fun, and there is an under-8 age group. Good luck in finding a place. It is great exercise!
