Swim Diaper That Will Contain 7MO BF Poo :)

My 7.5 month old will be starting swim classes at the end of the month. I have disposable swim diapers, but have read information stating that some pools won't even allow them (by themselves) due to the potential for poo leaks. I have looked at some of the reusable diapers, but am not sure which diaper to choose. Some have good reviews, but say they run small - some don't have any reviews at all.

My major concern is since he is still EBF, his stool is very loose and there's quite a lot of it - usually causing blowouts in his disposable diapers as of late. He is about 20lbs. and doesn't have particularly chubby legs. Do you have any suggestions on what would be a good fit and a sure bet at containing his poo?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the tips. I'm still doing a bit of research on whether to put the sposie under a swim diaper, to use the swim diaper by itself or to go with the all-in-one idea. The cloth suggestions were helpful...I'll probably get a couple just to try them out as everyday diapers. That website is awesome - thanks for the link.

I have used the Kushies swim diapers. I really like them because they have leg gussets to hold in all the poop. I have used this brand of swim diaper with both of my breastfed babies. =) The cloth diaper suggestion is also good. You don't need to necessarily buy a pocket diaper, you could just get a diaper cover like bummis superbrite, that will definitely hold in that messy bf poop. =) You can find the bummis at the Nickis diapers link from the other poster, and you can find kushies at diapers.com.

When my little one was recently in swim class they required plastic pants AND the disposable swim diaper. I found them at babies r us.

I would get a couple of Haute Pocket cloth dipes. Just use the cover portion without an insert. It will work BETTER than a swim diaper and will certainly hold more. Swim dipes are gross...I wish that they would just disappear!!! Haute Pockets have a nice trim fit...and are nice a snug around the leg. check out www.nickisdiapers.com She has a great selection.

Other options would be Bum Genius...though it might be a bit big. You could also try a Swaddlebees ABC wrap. It is what we use in the pool and it works great. http://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=266
