I am looking for a natural sunscreen for my kids. Something without all the chemicals in it. I don't mind buying online if necessary.

Any suggestions?

J.

J.,

I use the Arbonne sunscreen for my 2 and half year old daughter. I started using it when she was about 6 months old because of her eczema. It has worked wonders for her skin, and it is botanically based without the chemicals, dyes, fragrances, or mineral oil. I am an Arbonne customer, and I can get you a discount if you were interested. I also think I still have some samples if you wanted me to mail them to you to try first. Their website has a ton of great info on it if you are looking for products without all the harmful toxins. Its just www.arbonne.com Just let me know where you would like me to mail the samples! : ) Best of luck to you! J.

Arbonne sells a baby skin line which is botanically based. It's the best product my daughter ever used on her children and they live in Florida. I am a distibutor and can set you up to order online. You may want to go look at the website first.... www.arbonne.com
You can look at products, but you need an ID# to order.
Let me know if I can help.

I just posted this on another request, but the CDC came out with a press release in March about a chemical that is unsafe in the suncreens. That is the first link. The second link is from the Evironmental Working Group-EWG that lists the best and worst sunscreen in regards to chemical safety. This is all you need to find the best and safest one for your family.

Hi J.,

I posted this online for another mom, but based on your request, thought you might be interested as well.

I am part of a company that promotes overall wellness. They have a whole "green" product line called ecosense that has NO chemicals or toxins in them at all and does an incredible job on household cleaning, laundering, as well as many other uses. They also have an extensive health and nutrition line, a vitamin based makeup and skin care line, as well as the Sunscreen that you are talking about.

It is a broad spectrum mineral sunblock that uses natural vitamins and minerals and is a better value than what you would find over other physical sunblocks.

If this is something you would like to know more about, please give me a call or email and I would be more than happy to help you.

Arbonne ABC Baby Care sunscreen is WONDERFUL!! Pure, safe and benifical this product kept my children protected all last summer. A little goes a LONG way and it makes there skin feel so soft. It is thick when you apply so you can see you are getting them covered and then soaks into the skin quickly. I didn't even use the entire bottle with twice daily applications all last summer. It offers a broad spectrum protection of SPF 30+ and is botanically-based with no animal products or by-products, pediatrician and dermatologist tested, formulated in Switzerland and what you buy is made in the USA. I can not recommend this enough! You can search for a consultant in your area at the Arbonne website or my website is www.lizhigdon.myarbonne.com.

Check the sunscreens offered at vitacost.com They offer a lot of natural products and also are very reasonably priced compared to buying them at local stores.

there is a few whole food markets in the area (i prefer the one in country club hills on 183rd) that sell natural and organic toiletries as well as food. i spend LOTS of time out in the sun, and i use the j/a/s/o/n product line. they also have amazing toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner... u name it! as long as u are using chemical-free sunscreen, u can start looking at all of the chemical-free products u can use on your children, and yourself. i have been using chemical-free products for about five years, and i am sure that it has not only made me a healthier person, but, i am convinced that it is the reason why i look almost ten years younger than my age!! good luck and have an amazing summer!

J.,

check out the following website which rates hazard levels on all cosmetics including sunscreen, lotion, shampoo, etc. My friends and I have done research on this site and found that blue lizard sensitive skin or baby formula sunscreen is the best for your money. The cheapest we've found it is on Amazon.com.

Hi J.!
I have so many issues with sunscreen - my son has allergies to all of them. Had success with AVEENO's Soy based version, I believe in an SPF 50 it comes in. But when used everyday (daycamp), a rash would occur by day 5. Melaleuca (mail order), they have a website, has one that is a sports version and has melaleuca oil in it and is pretty natural. I have had no issues whatsoever -- even using it several days in a row.
I also hear California Baby makes great products -- a bit on the expensive side though.
Good luck!

California Baby makes a good and highly rated one. We have the unscented one, since I read the smell of the scented is pretty bad (never tried).
