Suggestions for Toddler Carriers

Hi moms! I wondered if any of you have any suggestions for a toddler carrier. I still use my Moby wrap to carry my baby, but I didn't know if there was anything better. It puts some pressure on my shoulder if we shop any longer than 20ish minutes. She is 17.5 months and almost 25 pounds. She doesn't like to sit in the cart when I shop, so I usually carry her. I'm not looking to spend too much money as I don't know when she will change her mind and decide not to be carried anymore, but if you know of a carrier that is reasonably priced, I (and my shoulder!) would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hands down the ERGO is worth every stinking penny! I can carry my 33 lb daughter as comfortably as my 19 lb son. I will often put my daughter on my back and carry my son in my arms. COMFY! After almost 2 years of constant use and washes it is still nearly new. Shoulder pads and waist padding as springy as when new.

The Beco or the Ergo would work much better. I use the Beco and personally liked it a lot more than the Ergo. It's cuter too! www.nurturedfamily.com has the best prices for a new one. Otherwise, ebay or craigslist for sure!

I'm trying out the sleepy wrap. I haven't tried it yet, but I have heard good things about it. It's inexpensive and goes up to 40-45 lbs. . . I can't remember which one.

My boys and I loved the Ergo. It's a little pricey, but totally worth it!

the ergo is great. it has padded straps that stay in place and keeps your little one in place too. i have even carried my 50 lb daughter in it (although i think the weight limit is 40). babyhawk is good too but not as comfy as the ergo and not as good as they get bigger. its very portable though and always has the perfect fit. you might want to check out babywearer.com. lots of good info for selecting the right carrier for you.

YES! There are LOTS of options out there! Probably the most famous is the Ergo, but there are also great ones like the Beco and the BabyHawk! I really recommend that you check out http://www.frogmama.com/ It is a website where you can buy lots of different carriers, but it has a couple of advantages. First of all, they have a wonderful try-it-out and return policy, which is important when you're buying online because you never know how you'll like a carrier until you use it. Secondly, the owner of the site does a great job comparing the different available carriers in various videos and descriptions so that you can figure out which carrier has what you are looking for. And finally, she has a used/clearance section where you can get great deals. I've used this site a couple of times and always been completely pleased with the product and the customer service. Good luck!
