Hi, I recently relocated to Milpitas. I would love to meet some other moms in the area and I am also looking for a good Christian church to attend. My husband and I have a little girl who is almost 2, a 14 year old son and an 18 year old son who is almost off to college. He would like to get involved in a good college group this summer and meet some others his age as well. We would like to find a an active youth group for our 14 year old as well. I am also considering home schooling for the 14 year old and wondered if anyone else in this area was doing that or knew of any home school groups to get involved in. Thanks for all your input!

Hi, my family and I have been going to Jubilee Christan Center for about 10 years now. The pastor is awesome and the music is great. The youth center is one like you have never seen before at a church. My kids LOVE it and so will yours.

The childrens ministry is a wonderful program and mine have learned so much. Among the many ministries they have, they also have a young adult ministry that meets on thurs. nights. Just started, Friday nights, "Pulse", pastor directs his sermons to the college crowd, the music is a bit different from traditional sunday, again geared to the young crowd, and after service ends they all head out to the youth center for some fun.

You can check them out at 175 Nortech Pkwy, in San Jose, off of 237 and 1st street. Very close to Milpitas. Also at www.jubilee.org.

The church is always doing something for the kids as well as the community. If you would like to learn more you can also contact me at ____@____.com you go to the website, there is a link to Urgency, that is their youth group website.

God bless,

Hi there,

I live in Milpitas & have 4-year old twins. I don't homeschool them as both my husband & I need to work so they're in preschool 1/2 days, but we do go to a wonderful church. It is actually not in Milpitas, but it only takes about 15-20 minutes on Sun mornings (or Sat evenings) to get there via 680 & 84. It's called Cornerstone Fellowship & it's in Livermore.

It's a very uplifting & open atmosphere & they have classes or sunday school if you will, for babies on up through high school aged kids. They also have parents rooms if you have a little one that's not ready to separate from you yet. They even have a separate room to watch the service from where they sing traditional songs rather than the more contemporary songs/w the band that they have in the main auditorium. Personally, we like the contemporary songs. I've been going there for a couple years now. The lead pastor is very down to earth & always seems to enable you to personally identify with something in his message. He's very good at getting into your heart & allowing you to see something that you might not have otherwise recognized or realized. The other pastors are good as well. If you're interested, their website is www.cornerstoneweb.org & it's the Livermore campus.

P.S. I checked out your website through another one of your posts & I think the thought rock is an awesome idea.

Hello, and welcome to the bay area.

If you have a Facebook, there is a group there called "The Old Schoolhouse Magazine" and it's for homeschoolers. I'm sure you'll find plenty of members from the bay area in there, plus lots of info and help.

There is a very good Baptist church in Santa Clara, you should give it a try. They even have their own college and plenty of youth activities. I have attached their link below

Hope it helps.

Hi J.,

I love the Bay Area Christian Church and have been a member for about 12 years now. It has wonderful family ministries, as well as vibrant campus (college) and teen ministries. I HIGHLY recommend it! There's several church fellowships around the bay area. Check out the website: www.bacc.cc

Hi I tried recently to help a friend find a church in that area and just tried googling in the area. I think I found about 5 potential churches. Also, if you're willing to go to another nearby city like san jose, you can also try to search from that city too. My husband and I have a church in oakland www.theurbanchurch.com, but it is a little ways from milpitas. I am also trying to find resources for meeting homeschooling moms so I'd love to get in touch. I have a 3.5 yr old girl and am in Fremont. Thanks!
