Stroller/Travel Systems for Tall Parents

Does anyone know of a Stroller/Travel System for Tall Parents? I am 5'9 and Daddy is 6'3" and it seems that allthough some of the strollers let you adjust it doesnt seem like they are made for Taller parents. Daddy is 14 years older than me, And I dont need him complaining about his back nor have my back bothering me as well.

thanks for your advice and input

What can I do next?

I am 5'10" and my husband is 6'5". We have a Zooper Boogie stroller that works quite well. Adjustable handle height works for both of us. It's a bigger stroller, though, and not good for in/out of the car. For that we use an Inglesina Swift. It doesn't have adjustable handle height, but it does seem to be tall enough for us. We really mostly use it for shopping and travel.

Most of the strollers that have adjustable handle heights will be tall enough that it won't be uncomfortable to push. You can also get extenders for some models, but I can't remember which now.

Sorry for the late info. I have a Kolcraft Contours stroller. I love it! It has all the greatness of the newer strollers like a Bugaboo, but it is only about $120. You can get it at Target.com or if you want to take a look at it, baby depot has it. I originally bought it for a stroller strides exercise class to be a jogger and for a more comfortable ride outside, but you can use it as an everyday stroller too. For the mall trips, I prefer my small Combi because it fits thru the racks when shopping. I just noticed that the Contours stroller is now available in a double too...
The Contour stroller if fine for me, I am 5'7" and my husband is 6'3"; neither of us have a problem. Size wise it is probably comparable to other travel systems, it fit folded up in the back of our Jetta with plenty of other room to spare. I love how you can have baby face you.

Hi J.,

My husband and I are expecting a baby boy in August. I spent some time researching car seats/strollers. I read reviews and went to try out the stroller systems.

I found the Baby Trend Flex Loc car seat / stroller system. The price on it is $159.99.

The car seat is 1 of the 2 chosen by Consumer Reports.

The handle on the stroller adjusts in 3 positions. There are two buttons on either side of the handle which is easy to manage. It is light, has a one hand close system and it stands upright when closed so it does not get dirty.

There are other perks to the system. Also, the car seat is not too heavy.

I found this system at Babies R us and Burlington Coat Factory (same as Baby Depot). The one at Babies R Us has a safari animal pattern and the one at Burlington Coat Factory is black and green checkered.

I purchased ours at Burlington Coat Factory because:
#1) I liked the pattern better (personal preference)
#2) our local paper had a 20% off coupon for one item. The coupon states not good on baby items except for clothes and bedding - but they took it for the stroller. I had another coupon and they used it towards a crib.

Here is the link to Babies R Us: (better description here)

I think that is it. You can check out the descriptions at the websites if you are interested.

Congratulations!

Hi there,

I have the Inglesina Zippy and its is wonderful, lightweight folds like an umbrella stroller, comes with a bar and a feeding tray etc. i am 5.7" my husband is 6.7". I works well for both of us even if it does not have extend-able handles. You can check it out at the Righststart store in downtown Naperville. Good luck. It took me ages to find one that works for both of us and gave me everything I wanted.

I too am tall (5'10") and have had great luck with both the Graco system ... and later the Maclaren Volo. Daddy here is also 14 years older, and no back complaints. Yeah!!

Hello,

I'm not sure of your budget, but my husband is 6'3 and we have the Valco Runabout. It was around $425. It's really comfortable for him.

Try the regular Chicco stroller. My back thanks me. It really makes a big difference for us.

Hi, J. ~ I am 6'2" and I have the Graco travel system and I really like it. I don't have to bend over at all when I'm pushing it. I will tell you, though, to stay away from the Chicco umbrella strollers. I don't know if they are all short, but I am so bent over when I'm pushing it it's not even funny. You may find that a lot of umbrella strollers are shorter, but you could buy stroller handle extensions (I got mine off of eBay and I know you can get them from One Step Ahead) to attach to the handles of the stroller. Unfortunately, the ones I got were not compatible with the Chicco strollers. Hope this helps!! L.
