Ugh...don't you hate them? I had become so depressed after having my daughter (years ago). I was grateful that 3-4 weeks after having her I went back to my normal size which at that time was a size 4. I was stressed out about feeling like my youth was taken from me because I had stretch marks. I was only 20 years old when I had her and missed being able to wear bikini's at the beach;0(

To my understanding there is nothing to prevent or repair your tummy from stretch marks. I tried coco butter lotion and mothers love creme. I think my only solution is a tummy tuck.

Any suggestions?

So What Happened?

I went to the website to check it out and this is what I found out:

http://www.strivectin.com/sd/strivectin-clinical-studies.php

Clinical Studies Don't Lie
A groundbreaking series of studies has demonstrated, without a doubt, the amazing effectiveness of StriVectin-SD’s® functional isolates. After reviewing and verifying the clinical data, an incredible 93% of subjects saw a significant, visible reduction in the appearance of stretch marks. The unequivocal, verified results speak for themselves. But there’s more. Clinical observations further document the ability of StriVectin-SD’s independent isolates to dramatically improve the appearance of:

Indented surfaces
Smooth surfaces
Skin firmness
Irregularities in skin discoloration
And that’s not all. StriVectin-SD includes a proprietary complex of skin firming agents, elasticizers, and skin hydrators… adding up to the most comprehensive topical formulation shown to effectively confront virtually every aspect of visible stretch-mark reduction.

Hi C.,

I completely understand what you are going through. I am 26 and just had my first baby about 3 months ago. I too am having to deal with stretch mark drama.
I suggest you try AVON's Anew Clinical Professional Stretch Mark Smoother. It visibly reduces stretch marks in just 2 weeks reguardless of their age or color. You will also see an improvement in the appearance of celluite.
I've been using it for only 1 week now and my dark brown stretch marks are now much lighter. It's only $25 and compaired to Strivectin's $135, it's definitly worth a try.
Go to my website www.youravon.com/stellapayne for more information or give me call at ###-###-#### and I'll be happy to give you a good deal.
I know how depressed you feel everytime you look in the mirror. I would love to help.

Hi C.....I was 19 when I had my first child. Have had several since then. I was lucky I guess as I didn't get much in the way of stretch marks and there really is no way to prevent them. They have that maderma stuff for stretch marks. If you aren't planning on having any more kids and you feel that it is this detrimental to your self esteem then by all means have the surgery. I would love to have it myself but I gave birth to 9 babies all together and probably have a much worse stomach LOL Insurance won't pay for it anymore now that all these people are getting gastric bypass and the insurance system is being bogged down by them needing skin removed so I am screwed essentially LOL Oh well.....being a mom is a wonderful things and I guess these are my battle scars HEHEHE

I would check out avon, they have a stretch mark/cellulite cream that you use in the morning and at night. I had terrible stretch marks, they looked like a tiger had taken his claws on both side and just scratch around my belly all the way down. the only thing that worked was this cream from avon. I have used several different things, and did not get very good results. with the avon cream I have seen the red completely disappear, and the stretch marks have reduced in size. They are still there, but not as noticible and the really small ones seem to have gone. I started using this about 4 1/2 years after I had my daughter so it is good for old stretch marks too, plus it works great on the butt, thigh area. I have also considered a tummy tuck, and will have a mommy plastic surgery day when I lose some unwanted weight. I know that a tummy tuck would not completely help my stretch marks because I had some higher on my belly, the tummy tuck would only remove that sagging lower belly and just help trim everything up. I know that there are laser therapies out there that are rather expensive, but you could check with a laser center and see if they could help remove or reduce your stretch marks before considering surgery. But I would start with the cream and see if that helps, give it about 2 months before looking into the others.

hey, I feel your pain! I used to have a stomach that was perfect and one of my best physical qualities. I had twins and got lots of stretch marks. The stryvectin does do a pretty good job of fading them, but it works best when they are still red and have not turned white. I also had to have a c-section so I have shelf where my tummy meets the incision line. As soon as I know I'm not having anymore children I'm making an appointment with the plastic surgeon. Go for it if you think it will help how you feel about yourself. People who are against plastic surgery are usually genetically blessed. For the rest of us, thank goodness for plastic surgery!
Oh yeah, if you try the Stryvectin, look at Sam's Club or ebay cause you can get it for about half the retail price.

This won't help with the ones you already have, but should you get pregnant again, proper nutrition - especially enough protien - may help. I think it did for me. After reading that none of those creams really work, that it's mostly based on skin type and heredity, I was sure I would have a ton. I just had twins and got huge and my mother got a bunch just having singletons. I was on an extremely high protien diet to support my twin pregnancy and read that proper nutrition will also decrease your chance of stretch marks. It seemed to work for me - I have very few and they're so tiny you can barely see them. That being said, try to not worry about it too much. Be proud of how amazing your body is to have brought a beautiful, healthy baby in to the world :)

People always say that it's hereditary, if your mom got stretch marks then you will too, it has to do with the elasticity of your skin. I know in time they do fade and when you're tan they're much less obvious but if you want to get a tummy tuck just to get rid of stretch marks, i would say reconsider. I had a C-section and there is a lot of extra skin in my tummy area no matter how much I work out, that's why I'm considering a tummy tuck. It's a MAJOR surgery so be careful.

Have no fear, your days of bikini wearing can come back...however there is a bit of a price. It's a cream that you can find in most cosmetic departments of the department stores such as Macy's or Nordstrom's. It is called Strivectin D. It works miracles on those stretch marks, and has also been proven to get rid of those wrinkles and crow's feet on the face now too. I just had my first and he's 7 weeks old, and I got stretch marks about a week after delivery, and they're already starting to fade. It doesn't take much, so one tube should last you quite some time. I hope this helps and have a great day! :o)

I had this same concern when I was pregnant with my only child. I asked my doctor and he told me the same thing, there's nothing you can do to prevent them. He told me to try to rub pure vitamin E oil on my stomach and breasts. I did this everyday and never got one mark on my stomach. I got a very very few on my breasts but you can't hardly see them now. try this for a while and see if it will help the look of them go down.

I used Vitamin E oil on a scar I had. After using it a while it is almost gone. So, I used it on a few of my stretch marks that were pretty bad and they are alot better. I don't use it anymore but I am sure it would have made them alot less noticable if I had continued using it. It has been a real long time since I bought it. (A little goes along way!) I am thinking I got it at Wal-Mart in the vitamin section.

As for wearing a bikini at the beach. Wear it and be proud! There are alot worse things to look at on the beach. I would rather see a mom with stretch marks than a grandpa in a speedo anyday!

Hopefully this will help.

I spoke with my doctor about this when i was pregant with my first. (I was only 21 so young as well) He told me that there is no topical cream that will help with stretch marks. He said that it is the musles underneath stretching and casing the dip and stretch in the skin. Before you do have the tummy tuck there is one thing i wanted to mention. In my opinion to each his own but one thing that i have thought about in recent years is how it will affect my daughters self image if i were to have work done. She is four now and very into pretty dresses and putting on mommys make-up. I wouldnt want her to think she had to get sergery done to make her body better. I am not trying to come off as judgemental but i am sure that at a size 4 you would still look great in a bikini and remember we usually see ourselves worse than others see us. Good luck, and whatever you decide do it for you and not anyone else.

I wish there was a solution. If you hear of one let me know. I'm 21 and have 2 kids, and the bikini thing is way out for me now! I didn't get a single stretch mark till I was about 7 and 1/2 months pregnant, and I wanted to cry! (Not that I need to be wearing a bikini anymore anyway... not unless I lose a few pounds... well, more than a few! lol) I tried the cocoa butter, and thought it worked for those first 7 months, but I guess it was inevitable. I just had my second child about a month ago, and I have stretch marks on my stretch marks now, so hopefully once they fade a little on their own, and I lose a little more weight and get back into shape, it won't be so bad. My husband said that they looked like branches and it could just represent my family tree... lol He's so sweet..
