Still Looking for That Sippy That Doesn't Leak

Had plenty of experience looking for sippies that dont leak.

We've had best results with platex brand. The valves are easy to clean and replacements are easy to find if they wear out. I just passed on more than a dozen of these to a couple of friends. Some of them were 10 yrs old and all I had to do was put in a new valve.

I also had a couple of the Baby Einstein brand sippies that I found at the grocery store that had a silicone straw. They had a lip on the bottom to keep from tipping, the straw held up well and they closed without leaking in my bag.

Foogo by Thermos. You can get them at Target (in the camping and water bottle section--not babies) or online for $15. Everyone in my daughter's class has at least 2 (one for water, one for milk). They are worth the money.

I always had trouble with the cups until I learned that you should soak the valve in boiling water before your first use. This activates it's leak-proof ability:)
Also Tommee Tippee are supposed to be wonderfully leak proof.

Playtex are the best! I've never had an issue with them.

Nalgene. They are expensive, but worth it. And your kids can use them for a long time if you don't lose them:) You can get them at Target and online through Amazon.

The Playtex ones are the way to go. My daughter has had the "coolster" cups for a couple of years now and they still don't leak! I'm not sure how old your little one is though because I don't think a child younger than 2 could figure out how to drink from them. My son is almost 2 and he is just now figuring them out. I do have some Playtex cups with straws for him and they work well too though. Haven't had too many issues with leaking...maybe just a few drops from the straw if you fill it too full or the lid is on too tightly (something about the pressure forces the liquid up through the straw). Anyway, now I'm just rambling. I seem to have great luck with Playtex products, so I would give those a shot!

Hands down the best no leak sippy is Klean Kanteen for kids with the infant/sippy lid. It's the only one that doesn't leak. My 2 1/2 year old starting taking it into the crib with her at about 12 months, and she still sleeps with it in there every night (we hear her drinking from it on the monitor all night) and it NEVER leaks in her crib. It doesn't have handles, but she's been able to grip it since she was about 10 months. I know you can order it online. Just google it. AND it's not plastic, so you don't have to worry about her water being full of toxic stuff leaching into it.

Have you tried the Playtex, levels 3 or 4, with the plastic valve inside the lid? (I never used level 1 shown in the link of the previous poster, but it's the earlier version of the ones I use.) I buy them at Target, but I'll bet you can buy them at Walmart too. I've been using these for 3 years and they *never* leak when dropped, thrown, tipped over...or even left laying sideways on the carpet. The only way anything has come out is when the kids were toddlers and would vigorously shake them upside down -- trying to get the liquid to spill. And then, maybe a drop or two would come out. I put these in the dishwasher and even that doesn't negatively impact them or shorten their life.

We have had the best luck with the Playtex Insulator cups (spout, no straw). The leak a tiny bit, but WAY less than some of the others we have had. The straw kind was always the worst.

We also found that, if we're adding more liquid to a cup that has already been used, even if it's basically empty, we need to take out the valve to release any liquid caught between the valve and spout. Otherwise, it leaks like crazy when you add more liquid.

Target and Babies R Us have them for sure. I'm pretty sure I have seen them at pretty much anywhere that sells baby products.

I second the Nalgene. My son has thrown it so many times and they are sturdy and worth the $$.

Gerber sippys that change colors. They don't leak at all and the great thing about them-they are BPA free (non toxic). You can get them at Target, Walmart, grocery store. We've had ours for years. Just make sure the white stopper is plugged securely in the lid. I've never had them leak.

My plain Gerber ones (they don't change color or anything) have been used for 2 years and have never leaked on me. They have a hard plastic seal that holds up to the drops and tips. The Playtex are also great but after a year of usage, they started leaking, so I just bought a new set of the same cups...I imagine that soft plastic gets warped after so many times in the dishwasher, but they lasted for over a year and I expected to have to buy new ones eventually anyway, but was pleasantly surprised that these two brands lasted so long and through two kiddos.

DITTO on the Gerber ones! Still using them going on 2 1/2 years. As was previously mentioned, they could occasionally have a tiny bit come out of the lid when tipped over but that's just because there is a little liquid remaining in the cap after the little one took a drink. These are really great cups and they last! Good luck!

These are the kind my daughter uses and they are always the ones I grab if we're headed in the car or I know there is potential that they'll end up up-side-down in the diaper bag.

GERBER ones are the best!! I get the ones that come in a twin pack! Good luck...

The Gerber ones. I have used them for at least two years and they have never leaked. They may occasionally have a tiny bit come out of the spout when tipped over but that's just what was left after they took a drink. They are great cups! They do well the in the dishwasher too!

I love the gerber ones as well they are the best. I looked online to find the name but I could not. You can get them any were thought. I get them from target or walmart most the time.

We use the Born Free Training Cups (NOT the Drinking Cups) and they do not leak at all. The more 'advanced' Born Free Drinking Cups do leak as that is part of their design. My little guy flips his cup over all the time and we have never had a leak. I know how frustrating it is trying to find that perfect cup that your child will actually drink out of AND won't leak. Born Free is not that cheap, but I think that the Training Cup is a quality, leak-free product. Good luck on your search! (Oh, they are available at BRU, but I purchased online at diapers.com. I have used the Gerber with screw on lids with the valve in the lid for over 9 years. They are the ones that come in a two pack and they change colors when cold liquid is added. Over 9 years, I have noticed that it will drip one or two drops, but that is because they do not get all the liquid out of the spout. They are the best sippy cups, and the only ones I buy. You can get them at Wal-Mart for about $6 or $7 for the two pack.

The following link has my favorite kind. They are the Playtex insulator Spill Proof Insulator Cups. They won't leak as long as the valves are in good shape. If you find that yours is leaking it is time to buy a new valve. Replacements are around 3$ for a 2 pack. The "click" twist cap does wear out meaning the click noise goes away shortly after purchase but it isn't necessary anways.

I bought gerber witha the screw on lid and they are the best cups we have.
