I am the only one so far in my house to get it, but my mom who I was with all weekend also has it. Something is going around, have not heard it was strep though!!!!! I am takng lots of vitamin C, I have never had strep before, and I was around my daughter back when she got it, and I just never did. So not to say you guys will not get it. Feel better!!!!

I got strep, strep, strep constantly when I was in middle school. Turned out that I desperately needed my tonsils out - they were "huge and terribly diseased" according to my mother (told by the doctor). Maybe he needs his tonsils and adenoids out?

I had strep throat at New Years, and my son had a strep infection in his finger at the same time. I then had strep throat again at Easter. It had been years since I had strep, then twice in a matter of a few months.

School only starts here today so I don't know what kids have, this will be my first day with students. My own kids are both teens and have never had strep. Actually, my 17 has not been to the doctor for a sick visit except one case of pinkeye and poison ivy since before she started kindy

We haven't had any experiences with strep in I don't know how long! Of course, my husband is the only one in the house with tonsils, maybe that's why.

If your child has "endless" anything, then the immune system isn't what it should be. There is a lot you can do nutritionally to boost it but don't fall for the advertising that brags about a magic vitamin or berry or whatever. If your child has endless strep, then something's off with the antibiotics - wrong one, not finishing the entire dose, or something. That's not normal and should be discussed with the doctor. "Stuff going around" happens all the time - the question is, why is your child getting it? Handwashing helps but it's not enough. If you want help boosting the immune system, I can consult with you on that.

We haven't had strep around here yet. But one of my boys has been sick for about a week, with a terrible cold. Really gross. And I know lots of other people with the same thing. Hope you all get better soon!!

something's not quite right with that. there have got to be ways of boosting his immune system so that doesn't happen. strep nails everybody from time to time, but he shouldn't have it for a whole season.

Last year starting a week or so after the school year began my daughter seemed to have strep very 8 weeks or so. She's been strep free since March - knock on wood -- and I hope that continues.

I used to have strep often until the doctor decided to treat my ex & me at the same time for strep. He suspected my ex was a carrier...that's why I would be sick & he was NEVER sick. Sure enough, treatment for both of us cured my ability to contract the disease; haven't had it since. You may want to mention that to your physician.
