So What Happened?

I want to thank you all for all your advice on the freezers and the help for the play Kitchen. The Play Kitchen looks like it might be on hold. The Freezer is getting purchased tomorrow night from sears after we see Santa. Desperatly needed soon. Not enough room. Thanks so much I will either get a Kenmore 12.5 cube or bigger. Thanks Again!!!

Well I have one, as well as a chest freezer. We got our stand up through a food delivery service. Both of them actually, because it was a couple years ago the first one gave up the ghost and we had to replace it (thus the chest freezer). But we found, a stand up freezer through our meat delivery company. It's called Elite Food and if you want the guy's name and number I can supply that. They're more the commercial type stand up freezer. But if you would be interested in quality meats and getting a long lasting quality freezer, let me know.

We have had the Kenmore (Sears) stand up freezer for about 6+ years with no problems. The only thing I wish is that it had some pull out baskets.

Good Luck

You could try to find a Yahoo Freecycle group and ask there if anyone has one. If not, try checking the Salvation Army Thrift Shops.

Have you looked on craigslist? When I was looking for one, there were alot listed. Although my husband and I decided to buy new. We ended up going to the sears outlet store...they have some scratch & dents that are cheaper than the store.

Hi K.,
We have had a Sears Kenmore upright freezer for just over 30 years and it still runs like it did when we bought it. We have never had any problems with it at all. I'm not sure if you know this or not, but be sure not to get a frost free one because your food will warm up and refreeze every time it gets rid of the frost just like most regular freezers that are attached to fridges. I only have to defrost about once every 8-10 months or so, maybe even longer. It is always a good time to go through what you have and reorganize it so nothing goes to waste anyway. Sears has had some awesome deals an appliances lately, and I'm sure they will continue throughout the month.
