Seeking Sleep Specialist in Lo Angeles CA
I need help helping my 4 month and 1 week baby boy fall a sleep. If you know a sleep specialist that you recommend please let me know. It is very hard for me to deal with it and for my husband also. Dr Marc Weissbluth "Healthy sleep habits, happy baby" really helped me but if I don't have some one near me (a professional), I will not be successful again, and I can't let that happened, I am sick and getting stressed doesn't help.

I know how hard and debilitating sleep deprivation is, but remember that your little one is only 4 months old and this will pass. I admire your trying to instill habits and routines, a problem for me, too, but 4 months old seems too young for any kind of sleep training. Have you tried just wearing him in a sling or wrap at night so that you can do what you need to do and let him lull to sleep that way? Or the swaddle/swing routine? We did that with my son - swaddled him and put him in the swing. I imagine with 4 kids this is especially hard - hang in there.

Hi There,
I have a five month old. I just took a sleep class with Marilee Hartling at the HOllywood Pump Station. It was great. I believe she does one on one consultations. Her info will be on the pump station website at pumpstation.com. Here it is.

Hi I.,
I am a Baby/Night Nurse and work and I often consult with parents with regard to feeding and sleeping issues. The Dr Mrc Weissbluth book is very good. I am currently working with a set of 4 month old Twins and am getting ready to sleep train, and I am also working with a 3 week old baby that I have already started to instill good sleeping habits...of course she is a long way off sleeping through the night.
I am interested are you talking about day time naps, or sleeping through the night, or both? Some of the questions I would need to know to help you would be what his routine is like? how often does he feed, how many ounces, how much does he weigh? how do you currently get him to sleep, do you let him fall asleep at the bottle? or rock/bounce him, what generally happens? If you would like to discuss with me feel free to email me.

for what its worth, my pediatrician does not recommend sleep training until 6 months (routine yes, but CIO no.) anyway, the pump station in santa monica or hollywood might be able to help you as they give classes on sleep help. also check out "the baby whisperer solves all your problems." im sorry you are so tired. :( i know the feeling, but the baby whisperer book really helped us.

Check out http://www.sleepyplanet.com/
We used their book "Sleep Easy Solution" and it worked well for sleep training our daughter at 5 months. I've also had friends who've used their consultation services and swear by them. I think it's expensive ($700 range) but I think they come up with a sleep plan and are available for calls/advice around the clock.
Good luck!
