We are moving here in a couple of weeks from Indiana, and will be living in the Lilburn area and going to school at Emory. I am looking for any advice regarding childcare centers between Lilburn and Emory (my youngest is three, turning 4 in late September).

Thanks!

M.

You wouldnt happen to be getting a job at Emory would you? They have a school and the employees are eligible for a subsidy. I get it and the school is awesome. But if you are not a employee,t he rates are ridiculous, but they are accredited.

There is also the First Baptist Decatur church, which is a great church, but I think they have a wait list.

Kindercare on Buford Hwy (I didnt like them).

There is also the Sunshine house in Decatur:
460 Winn Way, Decatur, GA 30030
phone: ###-###-####
fax: ###-###-####
contact this center: ____@____.com
Heard good things about them...They have a website

Also this one:
Briarcliff Day care
###-###-####
1731 Belle Isle Cir NE
Atlanta, GA 30329
Pretty sure I have called them before and they are a home day care in a nice area with reasonable prices...

Not sure where you are living, but hope this helps! A lot of places have wait lists so you might want to call around!

Hi M.!

I hope you have settled well in the Decatur area, how do you like it here?

I am not sure if you have found a childcare solution that meets your needs, but I would be happy to answer your questions about the au pair program option. An au pair is a live-in nanny from abroad that lives with your family for a year providing up to 45 hours of childcare per week (and help with other chores) for an average total cost of $340/ week.

See my blog posting with questions you can ask yourself to figure out if this is a good option for your family: http://nprice.aupairnews.com/2009/11/09/q409-planning-chi....

Your children are old enough that they would also benefit from the cultural exchange aspect of the program, learning a new language and culture, and making a new best friend!

Feel free to e-mail me at ____@____.com or call ###-###-####.
