Seeking Pediatric Dentist In/around McKinney

I'm looking for someone that is good with kids (under 4). I've heard some horror stories about some in this area and I don't want to scare my kids with their first experience. I'd prefer in McKinney but I'm willing to go a little farther if they are worth it.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We went to Dr Tim Brister as suggested by some of you ladies. He was great, as was his staff. I took both my 3 year old and 4 year old at the same time. The kids loved it! My daughter was even saying 'I want to go back to the dentist' at the end of the appointment. Thanks for your advice.

Texas Pediatric Dentistry- Dr. Tim Brister. He is located in McKinney on Custer just before ElDorado. He is great w/kids!! I took my dd when she was 18 mos & chipped her tooth- he did a knee to knee visit, so she wasn't scared of the chair and loved it!

My daughter has gone to Dr. Tipton Asher in Plano next to Medical Center of Plano since she was 2 and she is now 13. I really like him and his staff. They are not pushy and they are comforting to the children. His partner Beth Goldman is there part time and she is great as well. They have a very kid friendly decorated office and they cater to the children very well.

As for prices....he does NO insurance. If you do have insurance, you pay upfront and then submit your own forms. I have no issue with that at all and I've always been reimbursed for the majority of the bill. I think the biggest difference I have seen on reimbursement vs what I paid was $10.

Good luck to you!
Susan

We also like Dr. Brister! My son is 3 and screamed when it was time to leave to go home because he liked them so much.

i third that!! we just left there a couple of hours ago. My daughter is 18 months and chipped her front tooth so we put a stint crown on. They fit me in immediately to check it and worked with us on the schedule to get the crown on. They also babysat my 3 month old while I went in and helped keep her still. I was a dental assistant for 5 years and I know how bad dentist can be, especially to children. I would highly recommend Dr. Tim.

I second the recommendation of Dr. Brister. He is my 2 year-old's dentist and is great. Wonderful bedside manner and a warm, efficient staff.

Ditto on "Dr. Tim"; the girls still talk about brushing their teeth for Dr. Tim...too cute.
