I am currently seeking a new church. I am looking for an awesome church in the Macomb area where we can worship freely and hear from the word of God. I am also looking for a place that has a good childerns ministry as well. I grew up attending Cornerstone Church in Highland, Mi - it's an awesome church and am looking for another one like it.
I was coming here to recommend Kensington as well. It's awesome and so great for the kids! We started going when my kids were in preschool and first grade. After the first day they asked when we could go back. They are now in 6th and 4th grade and are still very involved and loving it! I love it too!!!
The Shores Church off 10 Mile between Little Mack and Harper has a very strong children's program and is an Assembly of God. They have marriage activities and activities for women regularly. There's a website/phone is ###-###-####. Great folks and spirit-filled worship and a focus on God's Word. Family New Year's Eve party tonight 6-9, $10/family, bring something to contribute to the food table if you can. Craft, blow-up & games for kids. You'd be most welcome - mostly young families. Enter fellowship hall from Lange St. which runs off Manhattan just off 10 Mile, 1/4 east of I-94.
Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene, extremely Biblical and contempory, fun and enjoyable. Kids ministry is FANTASTIC!! It's about 20 minutes from 21 and Romeo Plank and really worth every second in the car. It's located at 13 and Scheonherr. www.wwnazarene.org

I would highly recommend you check out Kensington. We have been going there for 2 years and LOVE it. My husband-who was an athiest who had no interest in church what so ever now enjoys going and tells me that we are not skipping this week. It is definately not your traditional church-they have live bands, skits, humor etc...every week I come out of there and can't wait to go back next week. They talk about things that are relevant to your everyday life-and it is so entertaining that the time flies by! This church has really made a HUGE difference in our marriage, our children and life overall. Last Superbowl weekend, th opening song was "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC-got everyone reaelly pumped up & they had a guest speaker-a Lions kicker. They have 5 or 6 campuses, each with the same exact service. Everyone that has come with us to visit is now a regular attender... Here's the website:

I hate to have to repeat everyone but Kensington is the ONLY church my kids WANT to go to. It is a community church with an awesome kids program...and the first time I went I felt like it was therapy for my soul. They are real people who want to be better but speak about how they are not perfect. It's fun and funny and emotional and I cry everytime I go (I am pregnant:) it always feels like they are speaking to me. I love it too.
You might try Kensington Community Church. We have been going there for about 6 years and love it. They have all kinds of childrens' programs from toddler to teen. they also have 4 campuses. Check out their website... I think it is www.kensingtonchurch.org
