Seeking New Daycare / Preschool for 3 Year Old

I normally would take the time to research this myself online and in person for weeks on end. However, my husband and I are feeling increasingly desperate about finding a new school for our 3 year old daughter.

We were spoiled last year in a fabulous school (in Canada). My daughter even tells us every day she does not like her new school and wants her other friends (from her last school). I know a lot of this is just adjustment from moving and such, but after two months, she has only warmed up to her teachers, not the other kids. She is VERY social, and typically makes friends immediately.

We need advice on where to begin looking for a daycare/preschool that will take a very social, bright, and ++ active 3 year old. I've been thinking Montessori (but won't have the chance to personally visit all of them in the area). My husband is thinking close and affordable (we live in Plano). Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

Hi C.

What part of Plano do you live? if East, I have home Preschool/daycare where I only take 2.5-4 year old toddlers. I have active and smart kids, I do teach them as well as let them have fun. I know you don't have time to visit in person, so you can visit my website at

Hi C.,
Run, don't walk, to St. Andrew's United Methodist ###-###-####) in Plano (near Tollway and Plano Parkway.) they just advertised having an open spot for 3 year olds in the monthly newsletter (there is a waiting list to get in during registration). It's not a full-time/daycare situation, but would be a great place a few times a week. It is one of the top private pre-schools in the area; achieving accreditation reserved for the top 7% of preschools. My daughter is there and loves it and I love the facility, teachers, and curriculum. Good luck!

I would go to Primrose Schools. There are two of the best located in Plano. Primrose of Forest Creek ###-###-#### or Primrose school of North Plano ###-###-####. Both of these schools are owned by the same owner (Kristie). She is wonderful with the children and really loves what she does. You should stop in and take a tour, or just give her a call. Good luck and God Bless!

P.S. Would not have taken my kids to any other school than a Primrose! They are known for being the best

Hi C.,

I have an in-home day care and a 3 1/2 yr old daughter. They could become great friends. My daughter does really good with numbers, shapes, letters...and is very much ahead of other kids her age. We play and learn and have lots of fun. I have an opening for full time if you are interested. I live close to 121 and Stacy Rd. in McKinney. I would love to have you over to meet me and see our playroom. Call or email me.
