Seeking Fun Places to Take My Daughter to Do Crafts.

My daughter loves, and I mean loves to do crafts, but I dont always have the patience to sit with her, does anyone know of any place who offers craft day? I take her to Michaels once a month, she loves that, and it's free!

What can I do next?

I don't know where you're located, but the Eastside Community Center and it's many affiliate community centers all have arts and crafts type classes at reasonable prices. Lots of fun!

Michael's and Joanne's superstores have craft days for children of different ages. Just stop by the registers and they can give you a schedule of upcoming events. They have small fees, but worth it.

Have you checked out My Masterpiece Studio? They are awesome! They have a website and they are in Beaverton by Washington Square Mall. Really great idea and a great place to take your child, I take my 2 year old there all the time and we paint, or do clay, etc. Honestly I can't wait until she is older so we can do the other cool stuff they have there.

Libraries have story and craft time, and you can check the libraries near you and maybe make it to two each week. CM2 has craft rooms that are awesome. You can enroll her in an art class once a week.

Have you tried the Hillsboro Parks and Rec SHARC center. I know they do crafts.

Try the Parks and Rec department for your city. Hillsboro offers classes almost every week (although not free, and parent aprticipation is required).

How old is your daughter? Speilwerk in Sellwood offer great crafting classes for young children. The Hundredeth Monkey in southeast Portland on about 16th street off of Burnside has open crafting times.
I have a fiber arts and crafts store but only offer a childs knitting class right now, but I'm hoping to add some more by the summer. Cheers, R.

OMSI has a really cool toddler room upstairs and they have a craft section with kid sized tables where kids are playing with play-doh and doing little crafts. They have special times where there is someone helping them learn a specific craft and the other times there are usually two different kinds of crafts that can be done whenever you choose. We love going there and you can do it on your schedule which is nice since it's open all day.
