Seeking Fun Location for a 4 Yr Old Birthday Party

I am at my wits end. My son will be turning 4 in February and I am having a hard time finding a location. I absolutely do not want to do the pizza place thing. We live in Sachse so anywhere in the Garland, Wylie, Rowlett, Rockwall, Richardson, or Plano area will work. Moms - please extend your expertise in this area.

What can I do next?

My son turned 4 last February and we did the bouncy house party. They had SO much fun and I would recommend to any child that is turning 4. We went to JumpNLand(used to be Hopping Zone) in McKinney http://jumpnzoneparty.bizopiaweb.com/Default.aspx?tabid=2....

Another suggestion is to go to Paint and Party in Plano. Kids that age LOVE to do crafts and then they get to take it home with them.

Good luck!

The parties my children have liked at that age:

Pump It Up
Bowling (duck pin or with bumpers)
WOGA (gymnastics place in Plano has great parties...even for boys!)

We are in Plano and some of our favorite parties have been at:

Planet Pizza--Know you don't want pizza but this place is great. It is NOT a Chuck E. Cheese. It has little roller coasters and theme park rides. No tickets. The kids just get a stamp on their hand and get to do everything they want over and over and over. I couldn't get my 2 year old off the airplane ride!

Inflatable Insanity--Legacy and Ave. K. A bounce place

Jump Town--Another bounce place but bigger. Independence and 15th

Infinate Bounds--one of my kids favorites. Independence and Spring Creek.

Barnyard Buddies--Cowboy/farmer theme with petting zoo and farm yard. Very popular. 75 and Parker

Good luck!!

How about the Bounce-Town in Wylie? my daughter will have her 5th birthday party in there and actually she chose the place. We went to one of her friend's brithday party in there and she loved it so she wanted to do the same.
Here's the link so you can check it out:

Sometimes the best parties are home parties.

I too was trying to think of something for my son who is turning 5 and we just decided to do a construction party at the house. He loves Bob the Builder and just decided to do it at home with a couple of construction games with toss the gravel( a gray bean bag) into the claw of his ride on john deer tractor and do pin the tail on the donkey.

Where I live particularly, so many want to do expensive things where you have to shell out 200 or more just to entertain all the kids but I say be creative and do something at home. I think I am being a rebell about it all I suppose and have been hoping that having my son's at home will lead by example for others not trying to outdo someone else. I am running into that a lot here. My own daughter was invited to a spa party, she is only 11. While the intention of the family is great, to celebrate their child's birthday I just won't shell out 30 dollars a child to get a pedicure and manicure. My daughter has also been to a party where the goody bag had items in it that were worth more than what we spent on the child. Talk about feeling badly when we left.

www.birthdaypartyideas.com has great ideas written by parents who actually threw the party. It can open up a whole new world for you!

We always think that taking them somewhere to have a exciting experience is going to make them happy( it does) but truly, being at home with his friends and his family around a cake blowing out candles will make him happy too.

You can create a fabulous wonderland in your own home and never ever think that where you live is not good enough. I have heard that one too, no one should be ashamed or think their stuff isn't good enough for the Jones. Be yourself and having it at home can be a fabulous time.

Lifetime fitness is in Garland and they do birthday parties. You can swim and/or have group games. You don't have to be a member either.
We are doing our 4 year olds party at the Wiggly Playcenter in Frisco. They take care of just about everything. They even feed the kids. Price is great too, 179 for up to 10 kids. That includes cake, lunch, and paper goods. The kids get unlimited play time and you get a room for 1.5 hours. NOt a bad deal.
