Just wanted to add to the message about the Twin sale at Lindbergh on the 27th. It's $1 admission and no strollers are aloud in the gym. I brought my daughter last year and I would not bring kids again. It's too hard to shop without the stroller. I got enough outfits last spring for almost all of summer for my daughter and only spent about $80. They also have shoes, toys, books, etc.. I can't wait.

Hi L.,

Have you tried Once Upon a Child? I shop at the location in Ballwin (on Manchester Rd). They have a wonderful selection and everything is always in great shape!

You should check out our big kids' consignment sale this weekend in Crestwood. We will pack St. Elizabeth's gym with literally 1,000's of gently-used kids & baby items, organized into one "store". It is really something to see - and shop! There are photos on our web site to give you an idea what to expect (www.StorkLady.net).

We're open to the public Sat. 9/27 8am-5pm and Sun. 9/28 830am-1230pm (most items are 50% off on Sunday!).

Don't forget to bring a laundry basket w/ you to use as your shopping-cart - and put your shopping shoes on and come join the fun! :)

Try a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything unlike resale store like Once Upon a Child! They give you points to shop on the website and send the clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist, tag sale, etc.

Value Village. It's located on Watson Rd, in the shopping area that is called Kenrick Plaza. There used to be a movie theatre there, but now it's closed.
It's a thrift store. And on the last Wednesday of the month, which is tomorrow, everything is half off.
So kids jeans are $2 and shirts are $1.
They have tons of stuff. 90% of my childs clothes come from there.
Hope this helps.

There is a big kid's garage sale this weekend at St. Elizabeth of Hungary church on Sappington, just north of Watson. It is run by a company called Storklady.net I would suggest going early.

Also, Kangaroo Kids on Manchester (in Kirkwood) always has lots of nice second hand stuff.

I think that you should try the sale this weekend in Crestwood. It is at St. Elizabeth's on Sappington just behind Crestwood Mall. It is a sale by THE STORK LADY. I have been to the sales and was amazed at all of the stuff that you can find. It is well organized like a store. My kids are older but I have plenty of friends that look forward to the sale each Spring and Fall. They buy and sell at this sale. It is a great way to find good things for your children without paying top dollar. Oh yeah, and they have anything that you can think of.

Good luck!!!!!!

If you are interested in resale items, I really love "The Purple Cow" on Gravois near Sappington Rd. They have great bargains on used and some new clothes, pretty much all designer. I can usually get a lot of clothes for a great price. Sometimes even $1 or $2! I always do best on toys at Walmart or Toys-r-Us.

There is also a sale this weekend at Lindbergh High School (4900 south Lindbergh Blvd) by the Greater St. Louis Mothers of Twins Club. It's open to the public from 1-3 pm. A short window of shopping time, but I've heard there's tons of stuff (prepare yourself for a madhouse :) ).

- As for something open year-round, I've shopped at 'Once Upon a Child'. Outfits have averaged about $3-4, depending on what I get (onesie vs. jeans) for our little one.
- The Purple Cow is great too for maternity clothes (haven't shopped there for baby clothes yet).
- Also try Kangaroo Kids/Wombats on Manchester. They have lots of clothes (for mom, pregger mom, and baby), used strollers/baby gear and nursing supplies/advice.

Hope this helps! :)

There is also a baby/kid sale at Mehlville High on October 17. It starts at 8 a.m., but people get there at the crack of dawn. I have gotten many bargains for all of my kids. Enjoy!

There's a HUGE sale called Baby Mania coming up at Mehlville High School off Lemay Ferry. It's October 4th at 8:00am, but the crowds start lining up at least an hour before.

On Gravois there's a second hand store that sells the best clothes for kids. It's called the Purple Cow and it's in Sappington. They're more expensive than other second hand stores, but well worth it since the clothes are practically new or in great shape!
