Hello!! I am wondering what types of arts & crafts activities I can do with my daughter this week to prepare her for kindergarten. I don't want to take her outside because it's so hot. I usually take her for a ride in the car and we go somewhere in the afternoon but she can't go to sleep early at night because she doesn't get much exercise during the day.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all your helpful ideas. I am subscribed to Family Fun magazine but I usually don't like to spend alot of money on just one craft and I get discouraged that way. My daughter loves to draw and cut and glue stuff so she does "projects" on her own. I tried playing follow the leader and she loved it, and I will take her to the SAGA 4th birthday celebration on August 25th. I had never heard of this place before and I'm very excited to take her. She also goes to martial arts class on mondays, wednesdays and fridays so I will not be signing her up for anything else but if something is free, of course I will take her!

There are great activities she can do for exercise - walking early in the day with you - or even at the mall, swimming, some of the indoor play gyms for kids, YMCA, public rec centers, a playgroup with friends, The Parent Connection (in Tucson) which has an indoor gym, etc. It's important for her to have physical exercise so she can gain stamina for being in school and for her overall health.

Best of luck!!

Oh the mommie and me exercise program LOL I made up my own or you can find little ones like Barbie at the Blockbuster. Have a follow the leader game throughout the house and that will help her go to sleep earlier and of course followed by the nice comfy bath. As far as getting her ready for Kinder I would not even mess with it other than to talk about the seperation part. She will have plenty to do when she gets there and if she is too ready she will be bored. Question is what will you do while she is at school? LOL good luck it will all work out.
