Goodmorning ladies, i am in need of a great GYN I have my owner business but no insurance. I do go to a clinic in Carson called Harbor Medical for Woman but I just need another opinion. Im not looking for a free clinic just someone that is not so expensive and that can really help me with my problem.

Its very hard for to tell anyone but my problem has been vaginal and yeast infections at least thats what they keep telling. I have 5 wonderful kids and after my 5th child is when I started getting these and it seems that it has gone away. After my 5th I stopped taking the pill and got my tubes tide. My son is going on 5 years old and literally I get these infection and i get them BAD. Mind you I NEVER had these at all before my 5th child. So much that I get them at the same time and my skin feels raw. I get very irritated and sometimes im in tears. The doctors give me the normal pill for the vaginal infection and it seems to start to get better but it really doesnt go away.

WHAT TO DO.... Someone told me that my husband needs to go to the doctor also because he needs to take something too, otherwise he just keeps giving it back to me, IS THIS TRUE does anyone know that for sure.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

OMG ladies I want to thank everyone of you who gave me great ideas on how to deal with my problem. I actually tried the garlic and it was amazing, when I requested this info it was about 2 days before my menstual and so I tried it after wards. I looked it up on line and read about it and I did just that. Since I was very very bad it took longer to heal and at first I thought this isnt going to work but so far so good. I already started again since my last month and Im still hanging in there. I also actually did it to my husband which my husband felt weird about it but "HEY if you want to make love you gotta do it for me" HE DID and laughed it off, all we needed is to be patient. Again thanks for all your help ladies.

The best OB/GYN in the country, in my opinion:-), is Dr. Connie Chein in BH. She doesn't take any insurance, but her rate is very reasonable. She is affliated with Cedars, and I know she is far, but she is totally worth it. ###-###-####

Hi, R.,

Please go to an experienced gynecologist and get your husband to go to a urologist or perhaps a dermatologist for testing as soon as possible. I think that it's ok to give oneself home or non-prescription remedies--if one is sure what is wrong. Find an experienced gynecologist who is willing to answer lots of questions and give you material to read about reproductive health or refer you to websites or other practitioners if necessary. Last week, I just found at that I had been misdiagnosed with an incurable STD 21 years ago. All these years I thought that I had it, even though I did not have sexual intercourse from the guy that I thought I got this disease from. This one mistake on the nurse's part changed my life in many ways (deciding who I dated/did not date, deciding who I would marry, getting c-sections). I wish that I had had the fortitude and wisdom to get a second opinion many years (decades) ago. I recommend you get a PAP and an STD panel (HSV, HPV, chlamydia, etc.) just to make sure that those viruses and bacterial infections are not affecting you. (I am not saying that you or your husband are unfaithful or promiscuous. I am just suggesting this because most of the population is infected with at least one of these viruses or bacterial infections and doesn't know it. In some people's cases, symptoms never appear or don't show up for years.) Once you know exactly what is affecting you, you can decide on a course of treatment.

Good luck,
Lynne E

My mother-in-law was just having what sounds like the same issue and it they kept giving her yeast infection antibiotics. The infection would go away and then would come back right away. They are now trying hormones in a cream form. I don't know if that would work for you buy you might ask your doctor.

Well, to answer your advice for a great GYN, I'd recommend Dr. Marc Rosenthal in Torrance. If you are more apt to see a female doctor, his wife is also in the same office, Dr. Jody Aronsohn; Both of them great.###-###-#### (Next to Torrance Memorial on Lomita Blvd.)
As far as the cost for a visit, I could not tell you, but you could call and ask ahead what the Cash price would be for tests and visit.
To me it sounds that your hormones might be off balance, with coming off the pill etc.
I had a period in my life where I had CONSTANT yeast infections, one after the other - all the while I was on the pill.
I finally decided to come off the pill - and eventually it all went away.(with help of creams etc)
The one thing I thought was really helpful and gave instant relief was Gentian Violet pretty much dabbed on by my OB.
Here's a link for explaining the use of that:

I wish you good luck, this is hell to deal with, I know!

Yes, you and your spouse both need to be tested for several things that could be passed back and forth. Has any doctor talked to you about the PH of your vagina? Sometimes a systemic disease like diabetes can cause PH changes in moist areas of the body and create an environment for infections. I know, I am a diabetic and must maintain good sugar control and cleanliness and any time I take an oral antibiotic I have to get the vaginal suppositories as I will break out in a secondary infection because the antibiotics change the PH of my "moist areas." So you need to have a general checkup because something is causing your body to create an environment that these various infections like. Good luck.

Rebecca just gave you some great advise. Another thing that I have done in the past with great results is to insert a clove of garlic in my vagina. For easier removal get an embroidery needle-one with a big eye, and pierce it with some embroidery floss so you have a tail hanging out to pull it out with. Use a good size clove and pierce the meaty part of it. Be sure to score the outside of the clove or scrape it to get the allicin activated. It will burn at first, but it works quickly and effectively to get rid of the infection. Garlic is a natural antibiotic. You might also try an occasional douche with unfiltered apple cider vinegar and water.

Hi R.,

Yes, you may have an infection that your husband needs to be treated for, too. It is true that sometimes you can keep giving the same thing to each other and, unfortunately, you will be the one to experience symptoms while he may not notice at all.

The previous response that recommends information about yeast in the body is good to look into. Also, you might start taking Probiotics. I have found that the liquid form you can find in the refrigerator section at the health food store works best. You just drink a little bit every day and it really helps keeep the yeast down. It wont make it go away, but it will help alleviate some of the symptoms.

The recommendation you were given to try to rid your whole system of yeast is a good one, as well. It is a little tedious at first, but once your system is clean, you are more likely to keep it balanced by drinking the probiotics.

I wish you well.
R.

I have felt your pain. I had reoccurring issues for a year and went to the Dr constantly. Finally what they had me do was take 3 Difulcan every 72 hours until the symptoms went away and then I took a preventative/maintenance dose once a week for 2 months. It worked and I haven't had a problem since. I hope that helps...good luck. I can't imagine dealt with that while being a Mom to 5 kids.
