I was emailed this great site, Infant Swimming Resource-South Mountain, LLC, http://www.childdrowningprevention.com/index.html. The website teaches us about Infant Swimming Resource, a drowning prevention program for infants and toddlers.
I am looking for a swimming instructor near the Carrollton area. I would love for my 14th month old to learn this technique.

What can I do next?

Try www.infantaquatics.com They have a few instructors in the DFW area. My friend tried this with great success with her 3 yr old and some success with her almost 2 yr old.

This looks like a terrific program. Thanks for sharing the resource! We live in Firewheel, have a pool, and have a water-loving 22 month old. I've already sent an inquiry about available instruction.

Your referenced site gives a link to this site:
http://www.infantswim.com/

From there, under the "instructors" tab, you can enter your zip code. Mielle Walther is a local Certified Instructor and can be contacted via Email: ____@____.com

i checked into this a few months back. there are only 2 intructors in the DFW area (dallas and plano). we had quite a few moms interested in my neighborhood and thought we could get the intructor interested in coming out here to use one of our pools. no go. if you have better luck, please let me know!

To echo the other mama's response, you can find instructors in your area right off the ISR website.

My 12 month old son is currently taking ISR lessons with Sheri in Plano. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

My daughter did ISR last year with Ilise...she moved away but is now coming back and open for lessons starting mid July I believe. She is listed on the ISR website http://www.infantswim.com/home.html -- there are two other instructors but Sherry is booked already. the one in Dallas might have some openings but I'd contact ASAP

The other program is AquaTykes by Cindy Clark. Check out http://infantaquatics.com/ - I think she is booked too but always worth a shot.

With most of these you have to get in early spring for the summer. I have video of my 12 month old if you are interested in seeing it...just message me.

C.,

I just heard about this program myself and I am very interested. I went to the Infant Swim Resource website ( http://www.infantswim.com/instructors/index.html ). You just type in your zip and they list several instructors in the area. I contacted Sherry in Plano and she is already booked for the summer, but there are several others listed that you might try.

Hope that helps!

K.
