I'm trying to pack for a trip this weekend and I'm not sure how to prepare for the hot weather, water park, and my two kids 9mo, 4 yr old. We will be going to Sea World 2 days and I really need to know how others have done it. Do you wear a swim suit the whole time with a cover up or regular clothes then change. What works best. I need any advice on how to keep our stuff from getting stole while in the water or at shows. We will be taking a stroller for the baby so what is the best way to keep it dry at the shows and keep our stuff safe?

What can I do next?

Hi M.,

Sea World has some great strollers you can rent for the day or weekend. The strollers are double jogging strollers and are super clean.

We always rent one for my son and his cousin who are 4 years old.

If you are interested you will need to reserve one before the weekend. The strollers are always reserved ahead of time.

Have Fun!

We took our kids about 3 years ago when they were 3yrs and 6yrs. We didnt wear our swimsuits, jsut changed at the water park and rented a locker. We did bring our own stroller for the 3 year old. We did have to leave the stoller out many times for the shows. But there were MANY strollers lined up and we never had anything stolen. We kept the diaper bag in the stroller too. If anyone is that desperate to steal a stoller and diaper bag at Sea World..........they wouldnt get much out of it. Enjoy your trip!My kids STILL talk about Sea World, it was really a great family VAC.

We didn't wear our swim suits the first day and regretted it. Wear you swim suit under clothes, but also bring a change of clothes. Use a backpack and pack light. You have to carry your stuff into the shows with you and you have to leave your stroller outside for the shows. I hated leaving the stroller there, but you have no alternative. One word of advice on the "baby rooms" for changing your baby - they are DISGUSTING! I recommend finding a park bench and a towel to change your baby on. Make sure that you take sunscreen with you. The food can be expensive, but plan on buying it there. One less thing to carry. Definitely bring a camcorder - the shows are awesome and your camera - the picture taking opportunities are great! Get there when they open and if you go online they have time schedules posted for the shows, etc so that you can plan out your day. My oldest LOVED feeding the dolphins - it was by far the BEST part of the trip! Planning your activities in advance can really help make your day much more enjoyable! Also, anticipate the exhaustion for you all and the inevitable meltdowns...for the shows you do A LOT of waiting in lines. It is so much fun! Have a great time and enjoy yourselves!

We just got back from Sea World last week, and had a BLAST. This was our third or fourth time there! My kids (7&4) LOVE it.

We did not do the 2 days this time , but have in the past. We usually see all of the shows one day and the next day go to the water park...this cuts down on clothing changes and walking around wet for two days!

We didn't use a stroller this time. You will have to leave your stroller outside of the shows. I always put my d.l, credit card and anything else that I might need in a little wallet and put that in the diaper bag or back pack along with the camera and sunscreen, so when we went in to see a show all I had to do is grab the back pack out of the stroller.

They do have lockers and that comes in very handy at the water park.

Hope you enjoy!!

PS... take cash so that you can buy fish for the dolphins!!

I'd put your stuff in a backpack that you can carry under your stroller then take with you during the shows. Most of the shows have a place for stroller parking so you will have to leave that outside the show area. You can wear bathing suits w/ cover up if you want people do both. We actually didn't make it to the water park section because it took just about all day for the rest of the park.

Hi M.,
Our family and another family went to Sea World twice last year.
I would suggest wearing swim wear under clothes and just bring some dry underpants to change after "wet" time is over. Bring sunscreen, hats, towels and some water (they will not give you grief over water and sippy cups) we even got away with bringing in some of those peanut butter/jelly frozen sandwiches inside. Their food prices are ridiculous as with any park. We packed a cooler and ate in the van (there is no place for you to eat outside of the park). As for your stuff, I took a large beach bag and stuffed everything important in it and took it with us in the shows, as they will not let you take the stroller into the show area. Also it's a good idea to bring a thin blanket to cover the little one from the sun if they decide to nap in the stroller.
Without a doubt, it's gonna be a hot vacation trip so dress really cool and comfortable. Some baby powder dusting would be good for all too.

If you're worried about losing your stuff, they have lockers that you can rent and put it in, which is what we did. You may want to buy a bike lock and chain your stroller up while you're there. Also, we just wore regular clothes. It get's hot enough that they dry very fast but you can take a swimming suit and cover up if you'd like. Some people do. HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!

I took my little girl to Sea World last year when she was 3 and she had a swimsuit on under her clothes when we got there and then I had a cover up for her to wear after she got wet at the spray park area in the main park. One of the best things I did was to have her in a two piece suit for an easier time in the restroom. As for the stroller, we had to park it outside the shows and we just took our bag with us in to the show. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with their strollers getting taken or anything. We spent most of one day in the main park going to shows and in the spray park, and the second day in the waterpark. My daughter loved the wave pool and the lazy river!

Good luck and have a great time!
