Hey All,
Does anyone know if there are any good scratch & dent stores in the Metro Detroit area? My husband and I are ready to close on our first house in MI and will need a washer and dryer. We are pretty much draining our savings for out down-payment and would like to leave a little in the bank in case of an emergency. I was hoping to find a great scratch & dent or outlet appliance store to save money. I don't mind at all if my washer or dryer has a huge scratch in it...as long as it gets the job done!!!

Sears - north side of Ann Arbor Road in Livonia near the Ford test track... (Ann Arbor Road and Merriman??) Its hard to find and they are not listed; sorry my memory is not better.

Sears has a warehouse on Plymouth Rd. between Middlebelt & Merriman. It's actually set back from the road (I think it's called Sears. Rd.), but there is a sign on Plymouth Rd. (on the north side of the road) We've gotten lots of stuff there. Both our washer & dryer came from there plus our fridge & dishwasher.

Someelse mentioned the Sear Outlet in Livonia. There is also another Sears Outlet in Taylor, MI located on Telegraph between Goodard and Northline on the west side of the road. We bought our refrigator/freezer there a few years ago. We paid about a $100 less than the retail price because of dent in the side which was going against the wall anyway. Best of luck to you. There is also a place called Resuced Treasures in Waterford (Airport Rd & M-59), this is a second hand store were most everything is 1/2 half off all the time. We have bought several pieces of furniture there. For example we bought a Lazy-Boy leather recliner for just $38 dollars, this was over two years ago and is still in great shape. We have also bought a couch that we have had for over three years that is a queen size sleeper sofa for $25.

Most of our appliances have been purchased there. You'll have to check the location on their website. It is hit or miss though.

My cousiin just bought all his kitchen appliances here - fantastic deals on scratch and dents, and floor models (I think his fridge was a floor model and the stove and washer/dryer set was scratch and dent)
Have you tried the Sears Outlet store, other places to check would be habitat for humanity (I have heard that they sell appliances on the cheap $50 for a stove, etc) lastly, there is always the Good Will-
M., I don't know where you live but in Plymouth at Sheldon and Ann Arbor Road there is a Kroger's shopping center. In that plaza is an appliance store that is going out of business and looking through the window it looked like they were having a great going out of business sale.
Sears has a great Outlet for scratch and dent appliances. It is located on Sears Dr. in Livonia, Michigan. You can find it on line. We have bought several things there and have never been sorry that we did. The prices are really great! Good Luck in your new home.
