School's Almost Out ...

Is it just me, or does anyone else see their children being a bit rowdier (is that a word?) than usual? Just getting the kids through dinner and bath was a trying experience tonight.

My kids are very active. We went to the park after school. My husband took them out on a 4-wheeler ride while I got dinner together. Still, they seem wired!

Two more weeks of school here.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks DVMMOM for the spelling. I knew that didn't look right, but my spell checker didn't catch it.

Mindy T had the correct spelling, too.

Yes, kids get this way as the end of school approaches.
Ask any Teacher, and they will also say this.
I work at my kids' school, and I see this firsthand. It is this way.
Now, imagine, how the kids are IN school, as the end of school approaches. The Teachers, ALSO have a harder time. Kids get more, giddy/rowdy/hyper/excitable. At school too. Not just at home.

I got you beat, our are out for 1/2 day on Thursday. Of course they are rowdier than normal. Just like us if we gave our 2 weeks notice...short timers disease...you get antsy and don't work because you know you will be out of there soon! Same thing for them.

Tomorrow is their last day. They were fine up until this Monday, now they have spring fever.

We have 3 more weeks (last day is June 11), and for a while now my daughter has been acting up more - talking back, arguing, etc. (she's 5 and wrapping up kindergarten). And she's had some days where I figured she should be exhausted but she's still bouncing around all over her bed at bedtime! Then today I picked her up from school, she was being rude and whiny so I made her do a time-out in her room when we got home, and she ended up falling asleep for 2 hours!

P.S. The word is "rowdier", when describing "more rowdy" (sorry, can't help it!)

ETA: My daughter happened to have her Spanish workbook home with her tonight and she decided to give some of the characters in it speech balloons with stuff to say - rather cheeky of her, I would say, but still pretty funny to me!

I think you're looking for "rowdier." My kids are too old for that (graduating middle school and high school) but I work in a first/second grade classroom and the kids are becoming antsy - and we have an entire month of school left. It is a normal thing!

B/C of Hurricane Sandy my oldest gets out on the 21st of next month & my youngest the 25th.......ugh, but they are raring to go already. Hyper as can be, plus the humidity has already set in & the allergies are horrible, plus my little one's asthma is kicking her butt :(

It's going to be a long month, but they are paying for the three weeks they had off during the fall when the schools had no electricity. I'm thinking of taking a little vacation & leaving them w/the hubby hahahahaha! And then I woke up!

Are my kids rowdier? Yes. The humidity and heat is bringing out the "spring fever" in 'em.

Our pools open this weekend and they are VERY excited about it!!

Our school doesn't get out until June 18th.

School IS out here! Today was the last day in New Mexico... and yes, my kids have been a bit wild these past couple of weeks.

Two more days here! I am a teacher and ALL of the kids are wild! Even the ones that you can usually count on to be good. Also there is a full moon coming up.
