Recommedations on Video Editing Software
Hey moms! I see all these great videos on the web with music, still shots, etc, mixed with video. I'd love to create something so great myself!
Does anyone have suggestions on good video editing software? The program that came with my computer doesn't do much.
Thanks,
M.

Unless you must stay in a Windows environment for some reason, get a Mac. The iMovie software included with your computer is much easier to use than movie maker. My husband had it, and I ended up buying him a Mac Book Pro. He has never looked back.
It used to be the case that people stayed away from Macs because they needed to use Word or Excel, etc. and that wasn't always available for Macs. Now you can buy Office software for the Mac, so unless you have some other reason , get a Mac!
Good luck and happy editing!

Hi M.,
Unfortunately I don't have specific software to recommend. I'm in the market for some video editing software myself. But I did find a great website that reviews software. It's www.cnet.com. It's like a consumer reports for all things technology. Here's the link to the video editing software reviews: http://reviews.cnet.com/4566-3513_7-0.html?filter=500342_...
My issue right now is that although my computer does have Windows Movie Maker, all of my home videos that I've taken on my camera record in .mov format, which isn't compatible with that editor. (talk about a pain in the patootie!)
So I'm either going to have to purchase software that will convert my .mov files to .avi in order to use the Windows Movie Maker or spring for another video editor.
Good luck on your search! And let us know what you come up with.
Take care,
L.

It might require getting a new computer, but Apple computers and their software are the absolute best when it comes to photos and video capabilities. I've had so much fun making dvds of our photos and home movies, they really look so professional. My brother in law is a graphic designer and my cousin in law is an artist and both of them swear by their Macs. We have the MacBook Pro and it is awesome. The best thing is that the software (iPhoto, iDVD and iMovie) all come standard with the computer so you don't have to purchase anything costly. Hope this helps!
