RE: Breast

Okay this might be a very stupid and a little too personal question but here it go. I wonder how many women out there breast get very sore like a week before their cycle? Mine do and always have and its very painful-my bra size is a 34B but would size have anything to do with it? My cycles usually last about 5-6 days so does the duration of your period have anything to do with it? IDK-but I asked several of my close girlfriends and they all said theirs don't hurt like that -they just cramp a day or so before. The only time theirs did was during pregnancy but that is the weird part when I got pregnant with my twins my breast never hurt like that that I can recall anyways......yet a week before my period my breast hurt so bad I could cry!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

No I have never had a mammogram-thought I was too young but I am only getting older so my time might be approaching. I will be 35 in February but my breast have always done this from the time I started my period at 14.

I had that problem as well. My doctor told me to cut out the caffeine. I did and now I don't have as much trouble with sore breasts. Give it a try.

I know you've responded already.....but here's one more thought which is very true.

CAFFEINE will do it to you. I have to limit my intake to one drink a day! It sucks! & I've been doing this since my late 20s.

i go to a breast specialist.. and he told me to take rose hip oil... which are in a capsule form... also put warm compresses on breast when they hurt.. and take warm baths... this all seems to help... check out ivillage.com and post this question.... good luck

You are not going crazy because I never had this problem until the last 2 years or so. I am 44 years old and my breasts had never hurt before/during my cycle, but they do now! I guess everyone's body changes and what did or didn't happen before can happen now. I already had my children, my youngest is 6 and I have gained a little weight in the last couple of years, but other than that nothing else has changed except this problem, and yes it hurts. They seem like they want to swell up and they are very painful. I just take some tylenol or Mortin and deal with it. I don't think there is anything wrong with us, just our body changed.

You are not the only one. Mine get sore before my period starts. I basically have pregnancy symptoms when I'm PMS'ing. I don't think size matters either- I'm pretty well off on the chest size - I agree with the comment though about hormones. Our bodies react differently with all sorts of things. So you are one of the lucky ones with tender breasts before your period.

On a side note - if you have any Breast Cancer history in your family - I would go in and get a mammogram done when you turn 35. I have to when I turn 35 because of my Dad's side of the family - it's heavily in that side.

You're not alone! The same thing happens to me.

My hurt also. It is helpful now that I have had an hysterectomy but still have my ovaries. At least I still know when I am being a complete b---- because of hormones! LOL!

Mine do... The only time I remember them not hurting is when I breastfeeding , as soon as I stop breastfeeding they went back to hurting the week before I start. (I had my period the whole time I breastfed.) I don't think your bra size has anything to do with it, it's just your hormones...
