I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue all of a sudden in the last couple of months my little boy has started wakin in the night yelling mommie and stirring around they're is nothing wrong with him and all i have to do is walk in pat his back and he's okay i try to let him get himself back to sleep but it seems the longer i do that the more he wakes up!!! Sometimes i get up 4 times a night i really feel i shouldn't complain but it interrupts my sleep and now that i'm pregnant i need it badly!!!!!! Is it just a faze? Is he scared? Just needs me????? And opinions???? And i refuse to put him in the bed i had a friend do that and now her daughter is 3 and is spoiled by that!!!!

What can I do next?

Hang in there T.. My daughter went through the same thing not long ago. It doesn't last very long. She was the same way. If I went in quickly and gave her a pat, she'd settle immediately back to sleep. This too shall pass!

My daughter is about to turn 4 and i still have problems with that! She goes through phases of it. She will go months of sleeping all night long and then there will be a week or two of her waking up throughout the night. I feel the same way also about not wanting to put her in the bed with me...so i just get up and put her back in the bed. We have before made a chart with all the days of the week on it and each morning if she slept all night without getting up she got to pick out a sticker and put it on her chart, at the end of the week we did something special together as a reward for doing a good job. Just an idea! :)

They say it takes 28 days of repetition to form a habit, so I suggest you mark your calendar today and then 28 days from now and stick with a consistent plan to get him to sleep. My solution was to sleep w/my boys (ages 2 and 4)in their room for 28 days. They share a double bed, and I'm petite so it wasn't too bad. (Both boys were climbing into our bed in the middle of the night every night) I know that this solution may not work for you, especially since your pregnant! But hopefully it will spark a solution that will work for you along those lines.
Also, think about what he's eating before bed. Any sugar? Anything new? There's a wonderful tea by Traditional Medicinals called Nighty Night for kids that you may let him sip at dinner time. It has chamomile and other calming herbs - and it's tasty too.
Good Luck. Also try putting a little Lavender essential oil into his bath, this is also very calming. You can find both these items at Wild Oats.
I hope this helps!

i have the same problem but my toddler is 19 months old and does this also. some days are fine but others are not and i'm also pregnant with my 4th with another boy due in october and i know how you feel about sleep. my husband has put him in our bed and it's hard to break him from it. i got him a toddler bed and he seems he likes it and stays in there. i really don't have any advise but just to let you know i'm going thru it also!!!! good luck!!!

Oh My Goodness!!! T. I am going through the exact same thing. My daughter is 19 months and we are going through the same thing. The only thing I know to do is rock her back to sleep. The moment she feels me try to put her down she starts crying. I dont know what else to do either. Thank Goodness I stay at home and we can catch up on sleep in the morning. I have tried letting her cry it out but she is old enough now and smart enough to know that calling out mommy and daddy enough times makes us come in there. I am at a wits end too! I am clueless and I am pregnant also so the sleep thing is wearing me out!
Good luck to you and I just wanted to let you know you are not the only one going through this right now.
