Hello- I'm currently looking for a preschool for my son to attend this coming Fall, 2007. I'm beginning to become discouraged by all of the schools advising me that both their classes and their waiting lists are full. Am wondering if anyone can recommend a great preschool in the South or Southwest Minneapolis area? We've been looking at Montessori programs a lot, but are open to all types of programs. Our first priority (aside from the obvious: safetey) is that our son's first academic experience be fun and that he developes an enjoyment of learning while also continuing to learn how to interact in a group environment, that is, play well with others. ; )

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated- especially if you can share what it is that you liked about the particular school.

Thanks!

M.

My daughter attended Early Education Montessori in St.Louis Park and I can't say enough good things about them. They are located in a church's basement and isnt' the fanciest place but definately has the right teachers and academics.

My daughter goes to St. John's Childcare at the St. John's Lutheran Church in South Minneapolis (49th and Nicollet). She absolutely loves it and I've found it to be a supportive and structured learning environment. She is entering kindergarten in the fall and I feel that she is more than adequately prepared!

My daughter attends Our Savior's Christian Preschool in Rosemount, MN (Co Rd 42 & Diamond Path). The education and experience my daughter gets there is amazing and the price can't be beat. The price depends on whether you choose the 2 or 3 days per week program, but it's very reasonable. My daughter loves to go there, and the teachers are wonderful! I am going to be starting my 2nd daughter there this fall, and she can't wait to go. Here is their contact info:

Hello,
I have two children attending preschool at Fraser in Richfield, right off of Penn & Hwy. 62. I am a HUGE fan of Fraser, they have GREAT teachers and learning is really made fun, I don't think my kids even realize that they are "learning" things it seems like play to them. Fraser accepts children of all abilities and integrates special needs children with average needs/normal needs kids. It truly is an exception place. For a child your son's age, you should be fine for a fall enrollment, but contact Colleen Polson at ###-###-#### for information (she is the intake coordinator). Good luck!
