Pregnant Exercises?

Does anyone have any recommendations for exercises that can be done while pregnant? I'm only about 14 weeks along, but I'm starting to feel tightness and discomfort in my back and tummy, and am concerned about the muscles being too weak. I'm having a c-section, also, and want to be sure that I can heal faster than last time to take care of both my kiddos.

What can I do next?

Walking is the best thing to do while pregnant. You can also do aqua aerobics, which keeps you cool while exercising and reduces the impact on your body. To heal quickly, make sure you keep up with your prenatals so your body is fully nourished and make sure to hydrate your skin with cocoa butter or other extra moisturizing lotion.
Congrats!

Dear P.

First of all congratulations on baby number two. As far as exercises go, as long as you are not on any restrictions from your doctor you can do simple stuff like going walking around your neighborhood or take your child to the park on Highway 6 right before Settlers Way there is a beautiful fountain in the front and alot of space for your child to run around while you walk along the big circle in the main park area. Or if not, there are alot of aquatic programs for pregnant women and since it is low impact there is no fear of injury. Plus streching every once in a while helps for the tightness, you can consult the internet for some streching exercises. Good Luck

I purchased some dvds on excercises for pregnant moms and they had ladies in the different trimesters because you may not be able to do the different ways, it was very gentle and I was not that stiff, I also walked as much as I could to keep myself not so stiff, it worked until I was close to the due date, try those things and hopefully it will work for you. The dvds were Pilates during Pregnancy

Hi P.--I always suggest a pregnancy Pilates / Yoga combination video for my pregnant women. They are muscle toning, and keep you fit while making you feel good. Back pain in pregnancy is always a problem for those who have it. These exercises will help a lot!
good luck, Kathy

Yoga with lots of walking.
It is all I did for my two pregnancies, and only gained 18 and 19 pounds, and had two beautiful, natural deliveries. With yoga, you strengthen your back and you become more flexible which will really help your back and delivery and recovery.
Congrats on your second child and good luck
