I have a 3 year old daughter that just got potty trained. Sometimes you have to bribe them or wait for when they are ready. Make it known to him that if he sits on the potty and pees and poops, then he is a big boy. Tell him that if he uses it he will get a reward afterwards. He will use it eventually. I tried potty training my daughter ever since she turned 2 but she was never ready until now. She is fully potty trained now. Just keep on working with him on it and when he is ready he will do it.

Hi K., My name is R. and I have 4 wonderful children, 2 of them are twin boys that will be 3 in June. Now I know this is going to sound really bad, but it worked for me. I put them both in big boy underwear, and I put their potty seat in a little area in the kitchen. I know that seems a little unsanitary, however, when you have 2 children your trying to train at the same time, you'll try just about anything. This way the chair is in their site all the time and when they see it, they think about what its used for, and it reminds them if they have to use it. I can say, that my two boys are trained. They have no accidents, I still put them in a pull up at night or when we are going to the store or somewhere like that, just to save on the messes that could occur, but they even wake up dry. It's great!!
It works for me,
Good Luck,
R.

When I introduced my son to the potty I just put it in the room where we sat most often and let him sit on it and get familar with it when he was ready. After about a week when he was used to seeing the potty I started letting him run around the house with just a shirt. nothing on his bottom. No pull-ups, trainers, or underwear. I told him he could pee-pee in the potty like daddy does. And because there were no diapers or anything to pee in he did use the potty. At first he only went at the same time daddy did (wants to do everything daddy does) Then he started going every time on his own once he knew how the feeling was. However it took longer and it was a mess to get him to poop in the potty. for some reason he was scared to poop and would hold it until i put on his underwear! ewww i know! But then he learned to go poop a few days later. I was one of the lucky ones, he learned to use the potty fast! hehe

Hi K., I used the fruit loop method for mine, I would put a few pieces in the toilet and they aimed (tried) and tee-tee'd on them, now for the poopie part my sister in law offered pieces of candy, and that really seemed to work. My nephew loves trains so at the end of the week if he had no accidents he was rewarded with a small train. So far he is doing great!! I hope this helps, good luck and be patient with him.

A couple of ideas....put a poster of his favorite characters on the wall in front of him....one that is like full of different things so that it keeps his attention long enough to go potty. A book is also another thing you could give him to look at the pictures so that it takes his mind off of "just sitting". Of course the other thing that I did with my youngest....is a little strange. Cheerios...they float nicely when peed on and he loved to pretend that he was sinking them when he did a poop! (kinda graphic I know....but it worked!)

We tought our little guy to stand. We tried the sitting and he wouldn't have it. We put a little stool infront of the potty and he was trained in no time. You might try this.
Good Luck
