Potty Training Book Suggestions
My daughter is starting to show some of the signs that indicate she is almost ready to potty train but she isn't quite ready. We have the potty and she is getting familiar with it but I want to start introducing her to some books about potty training, any suggestions?

I can't think of any book's off the top of my head. I have seen book's for this though. My best suggestion to you is, go into like Barn and Nobel or Borders and look in the children section and oh my do they have book's on everything from potty training to becoming a big brother/sister and even sook book's for children. The people are usually great that work there and will guide you in the right direction. Your daughter will even love to visit these stores very kid friendly! Hope this helps.

Hi R.,
There is a cute one called "Too Big for Diapers" about baby Ernie from Sesame Street. I had a few that made the noise of a flushing toilet - but it was a little obnoxious and my boys just liked to push the button, it didn't really get them thinking about and talking about the potty.
We have had a lot of luck with the "Potty Power" DVD. We're going through potty training too - with our second child. The DVD is fun, silly and has little songs and stories that engage the little ones. Plus, when it's time to go potty, it's easy to say the things they say on the DVD and get your little one to follow along cheering "potty power" (really cheesy - but pretty effective!)
Good luck!

My daugther, now 4 1/2, loved "The Potty Book for Girls" by Alyssa Capucilli. It is fun and the pictures are really cute. By the time our daughter was potty trained, we all knew the book by heart ;) I commend you on getting your daughter trained at 18 months. We were on that track until our son was born. Then the potty went out the window. We used the incentive then of going to preschool. That worked and she was ready at 2 1/2. Good luck, have patience!! Now I need help with my 2 year old son.

One book I know my daughter loved was a Dora potty book that had a button she could push which made a flushing sound. Also, there is the little monsters potty book. Both of these are for Girls. If you are interested I could see if I can find them and mail them to you.
