Post-natal Trainers in Bay Area?

I am 30 weeks pregnant and I am looking for a good personal trainer in the Bay Area (preferably Peninsula or South Bay) that specializes in post-natal exercise for after my pregnancy. Aside from just losing the post-pregnancy weight, I prefer someone who is specifically familiar with the problems caused by pregnancy- e.g. recovering the pelvic floor, diastasis recti, how to not diminish milk supply etc.
Until I got pregnant I had always danced and worked out, but due to morning sickness into the second trimester and other factors the only thing I have been able to do until now is walk so my endurance is pretty low right now!

What can I do next?

Hi there -

I hope this isn't out of line, I'm a fellow user of MamaSource, but also a personal trainer certified in pre & post-natal training. I'm located in the South Bay (Milpitas) and do in-home training with most of my clients. I also train at the Apple Fitness Center, and at a physical therapy clinic in Los Altos. If you would like more info, please feel free to visit my website: www.haoaboutfitness.com. I think the bootcamp section is probably in need of an update (one of the things that have fallen by the wayside since my daughter was born) but the site should give you an idea of what I do. It also has client testimonials.

Let me know if you have any questions. ____@____.com or ###-###-####

Oh, and if you aren't doing them already, get going on those kegels! :-) I think they are partly what helped me recover quickly after giving birth.

Good luck,
H.

I recommend christine (i have forgotten her last name) she is a mom and understands how pregnancy affects the body. Her phone number is ###-###-####. She works at the JCC in los gatos - an awesome gym which also has a fantastic pilates studio AND fabulous childcare for babies 6 weeks and older. I even think they have deals on membership now. I know several moms who have worked with christine and done some additional pilates and have had much success! Have a great delivery!

Hello and congratulations on the upcoming birth of you baby! I just saw your post about post-natal trainers. I would highly recommend 3 Pillars Personal Training in Menlo Park. They have a wide variety of trainers but still manage to keep the focus on you as the client. It is soley a training studio and not a "gym" where people can come and go. You can check out their website at 3pillarstraining.com

Check our Patty Dougherty's post-natal classes - she totally helped me get back to feeling good in a low stress, baby friendly way. She teaches through the city of San Carlos. Her class is a mix of pilates, light weights and aerobics. She's also a doula and teaches birthing classes - so she's well versed in all the changes your body goes through being pregnant. Her website is http://www.thecervixwhisperer.com/.
