So my family will be traveling with family friends this March to Mexico and I am the ONLY plus size girl!!! They are all skinny minny blonde hair hotties! I made the life change last Aug. to get my act together and have lost 46lbs. and on a strict plan to try loosing another 20 by Mexico, which will hopefully bring me to about 160/165. So before I continue with the story please don't bother with the your a fat @ss should go on a diet blah blah, because I feel I am doing the best to my ability in this area. However after having children my weight seems to be all in my gut and boobs, which makes it almost impossible to find cute clothing at a decent price.(I'm not going to spen $120 on a miricle suit etc.)

Swimsuits- Now I know it's early and websites don't have all their summer clothing out yet, but where should I shop? I found a couple tankinis at kohls but am worried that they might flip up on me when I'm swiming. I looking at size 16 but they have to be seperate and my chest is a DDD/FFF depending on brand so I am worried about my "girls" falling out. Yet I want something sexy and young since I'm only 28. Or should I stick with a one piece?

Sundresses/ cover ups - The couple I seen on like Lane Bryant.com cost at least $60!! any suggestions on where to go for cute not skin tight summer dresses for curvy women.... I have not worn a dress since my wedding, and not sure if once I get home if these dressed will be out of my comfort zone.

Last but not least where the heck do you find cute tanks and jean shorts? The only ones that I kinda liked where a levi brand but they were not the jean fabric. I wouldnt mind having the frayed/hole type that seems to be in style.

Thanks in advance for helping this Mama try and get her groove back!

What can I do next?

Any woman that has lost 46 lbs since August-and is on track to lose another twenty by March-deserves a $120 bathing suit-and anything else she wants-you are awesome! Buy a gorgeous handbag, sunglasses, watch, and cover-ups-and a couple of short, cute flowy things! You are going to be beautiful!

I forgot to tell you to throw in a couple of pairs of sexy sandals!

All I can tell you is this: I am large busted as well, and those little suits for cheap aren't gonna cut it. Buy O. GOOD suit. Lands End does have swimwear on their website now. You can search for a DDD top to a tankini or a O. piece. You will feel so much more confident in a well made, great fitting suit!

Have a blast!

I love torrid! Cute dresses, good sales. My favorite swimsuit is from
Newport news. You have to order but I've always liked everything I've bought from them. This time of year not many people have swimsuits. Try Ross, Marshall's, TJ maxx type stores as well!

Okay I am going to tell you, we went to florida for my honeymoon. I am 32, a double d and hate my fat arms. i have had twins and my belly will never be the same. With that said.. on my trip I packed a ton of clothes. Ended up only wearing my pull over dresses and tub top type dresses like this :

http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=103559&l...

The long maxi dresses will probably look good on you too. That was also a favorite. I didn't feel like I was sucking in all day and it was so comfy.. Bring some cute long necklaces and earrings. Jewelry will make you feel prettier. Charlotte Russe is good for that really cheap.
Forever 21 plus and old navy are fantastic for plus clothes. Look at kohls too. They have the dresses I was talking about. With that said... get a good bathing suit. With our "girls" get a one piece that draws the eye up.. like:

http://www.venus.com/viewproduct.aspx?BRANCH=24~97~&P...
Ordering online is the best thing ever, I get my package, do myself all up and then try everything on.. makes you feel better in your own house, and you order what you like instead of settling.
Lastly, I recommend a TAN!! that will make you look better and feel better. Fake and bake a few times or spray tan... whatever youre into..

This subject is dear to my heart because us young mumas can still look hot, even next to those blond hotties!! Have such a great time!!!!

Forever 21 has cute plus size clothing and they are really inexpensive. I think they have tank tops for $3.85. You can also try Torrid, but they are a little pricey sometimes. Good Luck, and have fun in Mexico! http://www.forever21.com/Product/Category.aspx?br=plus&am...

Try Avenue.com for cute sundresses. They are pretty inexpensive, and won't make you look like you're 70.

Also, if you can, you really should consider a Miraclesuit. I'm a size 16 or 18 (bra 36H) and I have a Miraclesuit that is awesome. It's one piece with a deep V neck and plenty of room for the girls.

Congrats on the weight loss, 46lbs. is amazing!!

I really think www.junonia.com has the BEST plus sized swimsuits for actually swiming. Be sure to check the size charts-- they tend to run large. And check their clearance section-- you're probably one of the smaller sizes they carry and the small sizes run out last so you

I don't know where to shop for clothes... but I do have to pieces of advice. Do NOT get a tankini! They will roll up if you're curvy and you'll spend your entire visit pulling it down. Also, not sure how tall you are, but I'm 5'4" and when I was 160 I was a 12, maybe a 14. I'm small chested so I'm sure we're different shapes, but wanted to mention that in case a 16 ends up being too big for you.

Congrats on losing all that weight. That is truly fantastic!

I'm headed on a beach vacay as well, and plan on wearing flowey sundresses and coverups and a one piece suit. I'm not in good enough shape for a bikini and have never found a tankini that stays put, so one piece it is.

Don't buy a cheap suit. A good suit will slim you and make you look curvy. I am a 16 and love the sun & sand. A must are clothes that you look and feel good in. I bought a darling cover up at JCP last year that looks like a halter dress. I usually wear a pareo, big sunglasses, jewelry and an awesome hat, a wedgy sexy sandal is part of my summer "uniform". Also, not so sure about the whole "denim shorts" thing. I am older than you but I didn't wear them when I was your age either. I think they are for teenagers. Your a grown up sexy woman, you don't have to wear them and they are not flattering on most grown women. How about a denim skirt? Fashion bug is inexpensive and carries all sizes.

Lands End has a lot of nice swimsuits and some cute cover-up dresses. Sign up for their emails and you will be able to get everything at 30% off plus free shipping. If you want to return any items you can either mail it back or return it to your local Sears store. I usually order a couple different sizes of each item from them (their sizing isn't always consistent) and then return what doesn't fit.
Enjoy your vacation!

My suggestions are Old Navy (I have noticed their summer clothing is out now) JC Penny may also have some. Shop online is the best bet. Good Luck. You will be able to put together some great outfits that just make you look and feel smaller. Have fun.

I would spend the money to get a better quality swimsuit. Cheaper swimsuits have thin material and don't hold anything in place. Lands' End has really nice styles of swimsuits made with material that holds everything in place.

try going to your local thrift store or goodwil, consiment stores-if your dropping weight-you sure dont want to drop that kind of money on clothes-plus they have all seasons, wide varieties.im to the point i absoulutely refuse to pay these outrageous amounts on a pair of jeans or anything else.just be sure to try them on at the store-most of these places has a no return policy.then be sure to wash all items as soon as you get home.a loss of 46 pounds is totally awesome..you rock!! have fun on your vacation...;)

Hi R., it sounds like you are doing a wonderful job losing weight, keep it up!! Don't let anyone discourage you either, we all have our downfalls and sounds like you are doing good. I have found really cute swimsuits at JC Penney believe it or not!! Whenever I go to the pool I always have someone say "where did you get that suit!!!" Anyway, lots of times, you can even look on the suits that are not plus size, and click on the size chart, and they have them available in plus sizes. Hopefully they will this time of year. Have a fun and safe trip!!!!!

I wear a plus size too and I find a lot of stuff at J C Penney. I am 41 and prefer the one piece swim suits with a skirt attached or the ones that look like shorts (but that’s just what I prefer).
Kohl’s has nice stuff too and they probably have some more trendy styles then Penney's. Check out Old Navy also. I have an easier time finding summer stuff living here in Florida so check out their web-sites.
