My daughter is 17 months and her hair is getting out of control!

This picture (the above link) was at the end of summer and it's even longer than this now. Do any of you Mommies know of a good place to take her for her first haircut?

What can I do next?

Little Clippers. It's off 82nd, past Johnson Creek road, behind the winco.
It's great. they sit in jeeps and airplanes and there are toys to play with while you wait. They put on a movie so the kid can be distracted while the lady cuts their hair. We love it.

Little Clippers on Bangy Road in LO is a great place. They have videos the kids can watch while getting their hair cut, and they get to sit in toy cars. The staff is all great with kids.

What a BEAUTIFUL girl! I'm not sure where you live, but there is a place by Washington Square Mall-- I haven't been there, but several people have told me about it. It's called Kastle Kuts. Apparently the chairs are race cars, etc. They definitely cater to kids!

My son is 2 1/2 and just got his first (and now second) haircut at Little Clippers at their Clackamas location (10822 SE 82nd ave). Super nice people, of course very skilled with kids. You can pick out an age appropriate video for your child to watcha as the haircut is going on, which I think helps a ton! We had nly a lip wobble the first time (no tears), and no worries and several laughs the second time. If you go, plan enough time to let your daughter play either before or after, because they have lots of playhouses, video games and toys to play with. Clackamas location phone ####-###-####. Gywn Santangelo was our stylist and I would reccomend her. It's not the cheapest kids cut around ($14.95), but well worth the price for a positive experience.

I take my kids to a place called Kuts for kids and adults on Hawthorne. They are a small place with only two chairs and they have a TV w/ cartoon playing (like old Tom and Jerry) for the kids to watch while they cut. They will cut whatever you ask for or will recommend something if you are unsure what you want. They also have a play room next to the haircut area that is open to it so the kids can play while they wait. I love that they can cut hair even while the kids squirm and it looks great when they are done. You will need to call to get an appointment, their number is ###-###-####. We have been going there for almost 4 years now.

Havent been there yet - but have looked in the window and thought how cute and clean it was. There is a new shop near Tannasborne Mall - right next to the Buffalo Wild Wings called Crew Cuts and Pig Tails.

Kids Castle Cuts kinda grossed me out. The people were nice enough - but it seemed a little dirty and unkept. This place was totally clean. Going to try it next. Let me know if you go and like it. :)

Hi P.,

She's beautiful!!!

I would highly recommend Nancy Doss ###-###-####

She has cut my whole family's hair for 12 years and she was great with my kids when they were little, even my VERY squirmy son! :) She has a warm, friendly personality that kids really respond to and her prices are very reasonable.

Here is the address:

4590 SW 103rd, Beaverton, OR. 97005

Tell her K. D. sent you! :)

All the best, K.

We love Little Clippers in Lake Oswego. Great place to play and the stylists really care about how the kids' hair turns out. They do a great job and the kids have a blast. They can play before and after and can watch a video during the haircut. Cuts cost about $15.

A couple of really great places that I've taken my kids are either: Kids Castle Cuts on Hall Blvd. or Little Clippers on Bangy Road . You can do a quick search online and find both the addresses and phone numbers easily.

Hope this helps!

I take my son to Kids Castle Cuts on Hall Blvd near Washington Square. It looks like someone else that replied does, too. THey have a huge play area for the kids and great chairs (old riding toys that they have made into chairs). They have movies for the kids to watch while getting their hair cut. The stylists are quick, which is great for kids. They will also do fun stuff, like glitter spray, to hair if the child wants it. They have envelopes for the first haircut too. Their phone number is ###-###-####. I highly recommend it!
