Over 40 Moms....Has Anyone Tried PurMinerals or MyChelle Mineral Foundations?

I have tried several mineral foundations....I love the idea (pure minerals, natural sunscreen, little or no chemicals) and convenience, but I'm still searching for exactly the right one for me. (So far Jane Iredale is my preference, but it's a bit pricey (almost $50 for one compact). I'm over 40 with fair, slightly sensitive skin. I've done some internet research, and I've narrowed down my choices to a few.....Have any of you (preferably over 40) Moms tried either PurMinerals or MyChelle mineral foundation/makeup? Are there any other mineral makeup brands that you like? Thanks Moms!

So What Happened?

I decided to try MyChelle mineral foundation, and I am absolutely loving it! It comes in stick form, which was a change for me, but once I got used to it, I really liked it. It's very easy to control the amount of coverage, it goes on very smoothly over my moisturizer with sunscreen, it feels & looks great! The only drawback is that, in the summer, I still need an oil-absorbing powder to control the shine in my t-zone. Overall, I am very satisfied with this foundation (and MyChelle's concealer). Thanks, everyone, for the advice you gave!

I LOVE Bare Minerals. Can't beat the positive affects it has had on my skin. I'll NEVER wear a liquid make-up again.

I am not over 40 yet but a few years back I was a consultant for a company called Lady Emily. It was back when Mineral makeup was hitting the scene I fell in love with Mineral make-up as well as my mother who is now almost 60. I tried going back to liquid once and couldn't take it. I find most of the higher end ones are great so it comes down to selection. If you have a macey's you can go there and try out the Bare Minerals

I'm in my mid-30s and can definitely sense a change in my skin since my late-20s. I've tried both Jane Iredale and Bare Essentials, and I'm pretty much committed to mineral makeup because I want to avoid unnecessary ingredients that I put on my skin. I find Jane Iredale to be a little on the sheer side (doesn't cover all my pregnancy acne scars), and while Bare Minerals powder has great coverage, it is a little thick/cakey (for my taste) after it is applied. I've started using Bare Minerals for spot coverage (like a light concealer) and Jane Iredale as my allover foundation/powder. I also like the JI compact because the loose powder of Bare Minerals is a little messy when I'm in a rush to get ready in the morning.

I'm 40 and I LOVE my bareesencutals (sp?) I don't think it's pricey. It's so easy to apply and when I don't feel like wearing make up I just apply the face powder and the warmth and lip gloss and I'm out the door. I tried the Mary Kay but it wasn't the same. I have to confess that I don't usually wash my face I only manage to take my mascara off and I don't feel so guilty because I know their minerals.

I haven't tried either of those, but I do have one I love (as well as my mom, who is well over 40). It's Mary Kay mineral powder. It's also not super expensive ... $18, and it lasts me a few months. You can try before you buy, and if you change your mind later there's a money back guarantee. Go to www.marykay.com to find a consultant who can help you try it out.

I am 40 and developed rosia 5 years ago. i found when i wore liquid foundation it made it a lot worse. I ordered the sheer cover line and LOVE it! No more rosia and it is inexpensive. Good Luck!
