Only One Breast Hurt Ever?

Strange question, yet I am becoming nervous. Only my left breast seems to have a dull ache every once and a while. I went to the OB/GYN as I had a baby 8 months ago - about 5 months at the time I went, and he did an exam and said not to worry and that my mamo and sonogram were coming up in August as I am 35. He also said that if you go for a sonogram without waiting for the full 6 months after breastfeeding that they will often see things and do needless biopsies and therefore needless anxiety. He also thought it had something to do with only holding the baby on that side...which I do. I do have semi-cystic breasts yet I was wondering if anyone experiences this because I am really starting to worry about breast cancer. Again, I am going next month, but just curious. It went away for a while and now seems to come and go.
Thanks!

I panicked at age 26 when I felt a lump. And of course I did not go to the doctor. A year later the university sent me to a doctor when I went to student health. It was a hormonal cyst that came and went with my cycle but it was always there. I never worried about it again.
I worked nights at a clinic and talked it over with the doctors who told me it would go away when I went through menopause. It's small but still tender so they were not right. However call the Breast Cancer Site or an organization that specializes in breast cancer support and find out what doctors on The Island know about lumps/pain and breast feeding. Then go see that doctor.

I quit nursing in March, & my left breast, up towards my armpit still hurts on occasion. That is also the area that was prone to blockage , when nursing.

I recently had some pain in my one breast. I had just had a mamo so I wasn't too worried. But I was concerned. I think that it was from a new bathing suit that had underwire that didn't fit too well (but looked good).

Anyway, I was researching breast pain and they said that pain in a breast is NOT a sign of cancer.

Maybe get a second opinion just in case? And I would think that a lump that is biopsied and shown to be OK, is better than a lump not niopsied to be cancerous.

Good luck!

i have had doctors show fear and get me worried for nothing. If i drink caffeine, my left breast gets hot, shooting pains when i am on my period.
you can also feel a hard lump. it probally is nothing and i would try not to worry. my pal just completed treatment. they saw grains of rice on the mammogram which were cancer and they caught it so early she is expected to live a long life. coming and going is not cancer.
