Hello, dear Mamas! I hope your day has been a nice one! I am looking for -I don't know how really to say it-. Like stencils or like a silhouette of basic objects that I can use as a stencil. I am looking for animal shapes, teddybear and maybe a basic monster or dino- almost like a cookie-cutter, but something I can print out. Can anyone supply the noun for what I'm looking for? My mind has gone blank! Also if you have any ideas of where to find said object- that would be great as well!
Second, I downloaded a couple of fonts from dafont.com. How in the world do I use them in a Word document? I can't find them in my computer! Thanks ladies!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wooooohoooo! Thanks Brenna! It worked- I never would have figured this out on my own- or at least it would have taken me a LONG time. And it appears there is such a thing as silhouette clipart- who knew?! Thanks a bunch, Mamas!

Hi J.,

For the fonts, when you downloaded them you should have 'saved' them in a folder or location. You can't usually save directly to your 'font folder', so you would probably saved them to either 'my documents' or on your desktop. Depending on your computer - You may have default downloaded them to a temp folder - in which case you will need to download them over and make sure that when the download box comes up you change the location to your desktop (or wherever you can get to them in order to move them to your font folder - I suggest your desktop).

If it's a zip file - when your zip program unzips it - you can just slide the font file over onto your desktop - don't worry about the 'readme' file or any other folders - you just need the file with the font name.

Once the file is on your desktop you can then open your font folder (from "start" / "control panel" / "fonts") then you just drag and drop the file into the font folder. It may leave a copy on the desktop - once it's in your font folder you can just delete it from wherever it was.

Hope that helps.

As far as the other question - you might be thinking about using a 'dye-cut'????

Good luck.

For the printable stencils, go to www.dltk-kids.com and then go to their coloring pages. Find the shapes you like, then copy and paste the images onto a Word document. From there you can make the image as big or small as you want. Or if you're okay with the stencil being page-size, you can just print from their website.

Don't know anything about dafont - sorry!

What are you using them for? How big? I have all sorts of dino silhouette's that I drew to trace on my son's wall.

At your local craft store, check the scrapbook section for die cuts (or search online). They usually are sold by theme w/several several to a package (ie; holiday, travel, etc.). Can't help w/ the computer question, but I hope to learn from your other Mama responders!
